File:Navigational map of the way of our icebreaker in Ross Sea.jpg

Hi Huib, I found out that the chart you've deleted was made under the superintendence of the Hydrographer, w:Royal New Zealand Navy in 1997. IMO it means that the chart is in public domain and the image could be safely undeleted. Thank you.--Mbz1 (talk) 22:09, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi Mila,
I'm not sure if the work of the Royal New Zealand navy is in the public domain or if they have copyrights over it so I undeleted the file but made a DR for it, I hope you understand that I cant simple undelete if I'm not complete sure.
But thank you very much for your note, and I'm watching the DR :)

Reverting a Quality Image promotion vote?

I don't understand why you reverted someone else's vote in this edit: [1] Can you please explain? 99of9 (talk) 07:33, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi.
I used to use a tool named click on mouse over and I used that tool so I can delete big deletion request, but this is the second time in a month that I forgot to disable it so I rollback with a reason by mistake..
I removed the tool so I guess it will not happen again. Huib talk 07:56, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Strange decision to keep

Could you please explain your decision in Commons:Deletion requests/File:The Holocaust Memorial at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco 1.jpg? What does it matter that the text is in a public place? There is COM:FOP#United States for buildings only. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 17:22, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi Pieter,
Welcome on my talkpage it seems I have a busy day ;-)
You're right about the COM:FOP, the United States of America only have FOP for buildings, but in the United States of America is a photograph of text is not copyrightable and since the text isn't very creative lay-out isn't very creative I don't see a problem why the file should be deleted, the text is the subject of the picture, not the sculpture.
Best regards,
Huib talk 17:27, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
This is a literary work. Of course it is creative. Much more creative than the texts on historical markers that get deleted, see for example Commons:Deletion requests/File:Michigan Historic Site sign - Pickle Barrel House.jpg. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 17:33, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
I do know that I'm walking on the edge between different policies, but I do stand my ground about the keep and the people in the Deletion request seem to agree with me, but please feel free to renominated when you don't agree with me.
Best regards,
Huib talk 17:39, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
That Michigan Historic Site sign was a bad decision, and that file should have been kept. Bastique demandez 17:51, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
I looked a bit further, this plaque is most likely {{PD-US-1978-89}}. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 19:01, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Thnks Pieter, I guess that that will give a extra reason or a more correct reasons why it can be kept right? Huib talk 19:24, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
I checked the registry. There are 17 titles "Holocaust Memorial", but this one in California was not one of them, so this should be free. Probably even the sculpture that Bastique had linked to. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 19:48, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Yay! Pieter thank you very much for looking further in this case, you did amazing work :D Huib talk 04:27, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Messiah Foundation International

Please tell me how to send a permission for the images of mine that you deleted on Messiah Foundation International Wikimedia and Wikipedia.

I have created those images, and have complete rights over those images. I do not understand, what do I further need as a permission.

Hi,
Let start with the Messiah Foundation International page, it has been deleted because it is out of our scope because we only host media here and we allow some galleries with a little bit information, the page you created was a complete article and we do not want those here, you probably want to place it on Wikipedia.
Secondly the files, as far as I know I only deleted a newspaper and a logo and all the other files are nominated for deletion and not yet deleted, the problem with the files is that you stay that you have permission from the Messiah Foundation International but just saying isn't enough for use because we cant verify it.
The way to go now is to forward you're permission to OTRS, our volunteers there can check the permissions and if its all okay all files will be undeleted and can stay on Commons, we here on Commons take permissions very serieus and therefor there is this extra step, I hope you understand.
If you need more help feel free to ask me,

Hi, can I know why this files were deleted, since they were PD-Art?? Was there a problem in the licence? Why nobody advised me on my discussion page?? I really don't understand. Thanks (notify on my page, tnx) --Sailko (talk) 22:49, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
I have deleted them because they where tagged as copyvio with the reasson The cista Ficoroni is obviously a 3D object, so PD-Art can't apply., the PD-art license only works for 2D works.
If you want I can undelete them and let them run as normal DR so more people can interact with the discussion, and I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't get notified the copyvio tagger has to job to notify also and he didn't thats to bad.
Best regards,
Huib talk 04:49, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
The question is, the cista is 3D, but the decoration I uploaded is definitely 2D: it's a "Burin" incision, it makes a scratch as shallow as a pencil scratch, there is no way to make a personal interpretation of it with light and so on. Can you please cheack and try to revert the cancellation? Thanks --Sailko (talk) 23:35, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I took this to a Commons Undeletion request, Commons:Undeletion_requests/Current_requests#File:Cista_ficoroni.2C_scena_02.jpg, I suggest we work it further on that place.

Since I deleted the files and I have messed up when the deletion was wrong and they are undeleted, I think it would be my job to restore all the files, so if you could give me the links where it was in use I will restore it when it get undeleted, it would be strange that I make a mess and you need to clean up right ;-)

I received an e-mail from Haim Watzman asking to add a picture to his wiki page. He asked for the picture to be credited to Debbi Cooper. Can I upload it here under a not free licence or is it a fair-use picture to upload to wikipedia?

-SuperJew (talk) 14:55, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
Its kind of hard to answer this quistion since I cant see the email so I don't know what he is writing, but I will do my best to help you.
Since you recieved a email with a file and a name that needs to be credited you need to start with sending the email to permissions@wikimedia[dot]org, this will make sure the email is archived in our permissions system and it will give you a OTRS ticket, this ticket needs to be placed on the file page when one of our volunteers emails you that it is okay to upload it.
If the file is mend to be uploaded on Commons there needs to be a license according to this page, a license on Commons needs to be free for everybody to use it, share alike and edit a file for personal and commercial reasons as stated in the license. Its very important that the email says under what license a file can be used, I don't know much about Fair use so I cant help you with that. If the email doesn't give a clear license you could always ask the person to give a more specific license under what we can upload it.
So the most important part is that you're email ends up with our otrs volunteers, they can say to you what needs to be done also and they can help you much futher on your way.
A last option is to send a email back and ask him to read Wikipedia:Contact us/Photo submission, here there is some text how people can send emails with files to our volunteers and what the need to say to get it uploaded :).
I hope my answer help you a little bit, feel free to ask more when needed.

Hello,
That a file is published on a government site doesn't mean that a file is free, it only means that the government site have the right to use the file. If you have permission from the government or any proof that its really free you should send a email to OTRS a otrs user will verify it and undelete it when needed.

Bonaparte's head

Hi, just dropping by to mention that you accidentally speedy deleted a former en:wiki featured picture candidate.[2] The file was a restored historic image, which a nominator who's had problems with inappropriate nominations before had mismarked as a duplicate. The edit notes are clearly explained in the file statement.

It's very rare for this sort of thing to happen, but the Commons delinker bot already delinked it from all projects before I became aware of a problem. Something to keep in mind, perhaps, with future speedy deletion requests? Best regards, Durova (talk) 21:45, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that it went wrong, I saw the request and I didn't see anything wrong, but I guess that I missed that line.
I just tried to search the CommonsDelinker log so I could fix all the replacements, but it doesn't show any edits so that doesn't really help :(
I will be more careful in the future, I'm not here to make mistakes when I delete because it could cause big time work if its replaced globally, but mistakes show also that I'm human. Thank you very much for the note.
Huib talk 04:42, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks very much for the kind response. There are so many true duplicates that an occasional mistake is understandable. It all seemed to be in good faith. I've contacted the bot owner; we'll see if that might help. Best regards, Durova (talk) 14:12, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Photo protection

Hey Abigor. Thank you again. Would you mind protecting it to the version I last edited? This one is the one. The OR is still on the image. --David Shankbone (talk) 22:02, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

How is the identification of any of the subjects in this photograph any less "original research?" In fact, it's all your "research," as you were the one who identified him as Saranga on your blog (as, upon examination of the individual in the photograph, he clearly is.) Why are we trying to hide that this is W:David Saranga? Maybe there's a good reason, but you haven't offered one yet.Proabivouac (talk) 22:20, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
Huib, Proabivouac is tarantino on the Wikipedia Review, and after not having edited here for years came back to lead this campaign off there. --David Shankbone (talk) 22:33, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi Huib - I was asked as a common courtesy to have the name removed when I uploaded the file, but the request is no longer relevant. Thank you for your help with this nonetheless - there is no issue. --David Shankbone (talk) 23:47, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi David,
When this discussion was happening I was sleeping so I couldn't answer much sooner, but I see that it is solved now :)
I will keep watching the file page for when the protection ends, and I'm watching the talkpages for the users that you mentioned so when this or something like this would happen again I could respond much faster ;-) And thank you for letting me know what OR means, I guess you need to be a wikimedian to know that :P
Thanks for all your hard work and great images,

curious files

Hello Abigor, please look at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Mluisa85 - as far as I see all these files are unused, some technical documents (??) that are out of scope of the commons. And they have a bad resolution, barely unreadable. I have started a first speedy deletion. Perhaps I should look for the technique of "mass speedy deletion"... best wishes (and much fun in the paradise of the "uncategorized logos" -:) ) Cholo Aleman (talk) 04:15, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
I deleted all the files for out of scope, I checked all and every file is not used and all the files look like pages from a book and when a user scans some pages it doesn't really make then free so they could even be a copyvio :-)
There is a type for mass speedy deletions and you already found it, just leave a note on a administrator talk page because we have some tools what the deletion much more easy makes, no need for you to tag every single file.
Thanks for the note and keep up the good work,

Deletion requests for Michael Steiner images

Hi Abigor,

thank You for changing the files Michael steiner langeheroog.jpg, Michael steiner supermanns albtraum.jpg and Michael steiner water oyster and pearl.jpg from speedy to normal deletion nomination. After the nomination for speedy deletion i behaved like proposed in order to prevent the files from deletion but it didn't work properly. In fact, i'm the owner of the copyrights since it has been given to me by the artist Michael Steiner who is a friend of mine. It is his ecplicit will to offer the above mentioned images to the public. I am able to prove these facts but i don't know how i could do that, since the discussion entry still doesn't work so i'm unable to post a discussion entry.

Best Regards Elmar Paderborn Elmar paderborn (talk) 14:38, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Are you sure about this? I was actually in favor of undeleting it, but you've outrun me. I don't see the need of deleting these pages, even if the user is blocked; after all, we don't delete all the contributions of blocked users (these pages were certainly not the reason for his block, they are not disruptive or anything). Moreover, you say the user doesn't need them anymore, and yet he's the one requesting the undeletion.
To summarize my thought, I would say these pages are a positive contribution to Commons, and the fact that the author is blocked should not influence our judgment on them. –Tryphon 14:48, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi Tryphon,
I can fairly say that I'm not complete sure about it, I think galleries in the user namespace are for personal use and therefor doesn't have any use when a user is indeffed blocked. But like I proposed I would be very happy to undelete them and move them to a other username space and leave a redirect behind.
But when you say that you think it would be better to just undelete them I think its whise to do so, I appriciate your opinion like always and since I don't feel so secure as I did when I closed it I would be very happy to undelete them, do you think we need to make a new request for that or can I just undelete them per this talk page message?
Best regards,
Huib talk 15:07, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Might be best to just retrieve the request from the archive and re-list it, in order to avoid a whole delete-undelete-delete cycle if someone meant to oppose. Thanks for reconsidering. –Tryphon 15:18, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Request

Which is the reason of this request http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:M%C4%83n%C4%83stirea_Neam%C5%A34.jpg&oldid=30005634? What was wrong? --Cezarika1 (talk) 04:17, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
When you moved the file from ro.wiki to Commons it had a template {{Ffd}} on ro.wiki, I don't know what it does on ro.wiki but it was on the file page, when you moved the file to Commons the bot copied the complete file page including {{Ffd}} and {{Ffd}} is a redirect on Commons to our Delete template.
So there wasn't really a request for deletion, there was a template that shouldn't be moved and that is one of the reasons why bot moves needs to be checked :-) , so don't worry you're file is okay.
Best regards,
Huib talk 04:49, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your answer. Anyway, there was no request to delete the image on roWiki. I didn't understand the reason of the deletion request. So I acted correctly. --Cezarika1 (talk) 04:57, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Fossil xxx

If possible please do not delete any "Fossil xxxx" categories in the deletion section right now. User:Snek01 is currently going against the discussions on wp:ToL regarding how to handle these categories and attempting to implement his/her personal idea of how the images should be handled. This as after being asked by two separate users to return to the discussions and not make any more changes. Snek01 responded by saying they would ignore anyone who disagrees with him/her. Here is the full discussion, with Snek01's dismissal of the opinions as the last comment posted.--Kevmin (talk) 07:30, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
Thank you for you're note, but I don't really think I can help you, every day there are 30 maybe more categories tagged for deletion, all its kind of hard to check if the deletion tag is okay or if there is still a discussion, and even if I don't delete them a other admin will come and delete, the best way to make sure they are not deleted is to make a {{Category redirect}} instead, or ask Snek01 to do so since there isn't a policy that say's that all empty cat should be deleted.
Lets just say that I will try to remember this conversation and retag them as {{Category redirect}}} but you don't pin me down on it, since there are a lot of empty cats every day, and secondly there are like 200 admins so a other could delete it when I don't
If you think the behavior stays this way and its going against policy are agreement you could bring it up on User problems on COM:AN, maybe we can reach a solution there.

I don't think they should be speedy deleted. The flickr account this image was taken from is that band's official account. They even link to that account from their official website [3]. --SpaceFlight89 (talk) 07:46, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
I didn't know that it was a offical Flickrstream, I just noticed that it was a stream with only 2 files and only files from a band so I thought it would be Flickr washing.
Thanks for the note, the file is undeleted.

Sorry for my little mistake ;-) Huib talk 08:14, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello my name is Žiedas, and I am Lithuanian wiki user as well as I have account on commons. In the past year I have uploaded several pictures that I made myself under my clones named Pegasas, SZOM, Emka. Want to ask you, is it ok if I would change picture author to my current nick Žiedas. I acknowledge I made mistake by creating clones and now I actually don't know what to do with them? Maybe you can just block indefinitely users Pegasas, SZOM, Emka or can suggest any other resolution for this problem. Sincerely. Please deletion foto from my clones named Pegasas, SZOM, Emka. Highly please. --Žiedas (talk) 10:45, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Roller derby

I'm sure your intentions were good following up on Jamesofur (talk · contribs)'s request and blocking 75.92.143.26 (talk · contribs) over her annotations to my photos of the roller derby benefit party, but as far as I can tell her edits were accurate and I have restored them. I happen to know who she is: she's one of the competitors herself, and wrote me quite indignantly about having been blocked for making accurate additions. Yes, some of the noms de guerre are mildly obscene, but the Commons is not censored in that respect, and what she wrote is accurate. - Jmabel ! talk 07:06, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
I just took action after I was asked for it on IRC, I believed that Jamesofur did all the checking and everything would be okay, I'm sorry that I didn't double check it. I noticed that the block is already lifted so I guess its solved now. Huib talk 09:26, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Yes, thanks. I can totally see how this looked like vandalism, but it wasn't. - Jmabel ! talk 17:16, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

File:Comicsnewsletterlogo.png

Can you clarify what the issues of fair use were regarding and where the issue was debated, please. I thought I had licensed the work appropriately, but as it has been deleted I can't now tell. Hiding (talk) 10:05, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
It was brought to my attention that this was not a logo but a special made image for a portal on Commons, I was a little bit confused because it wasn't used according to CheckUsage so I believed we where talking about a company logo, its undeleted now.

Talk page speedy deletion?

Thanks for deleting my erroneous upload of File:OHMap-doton-Stout.png. You didn't delete the talk page, which contains nothing except my deletion rationale; could it be speedy deleted? Or must I file a regular deletion request? Nyttend (talk) 22:16, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

I should note — I'll likely forget that I made this request, so would you please tell me when you answer this? Thanks! Nyttend (talk) 22:17, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

These 3 images

Perhaps the time has come to delete these 3 images since their license was never verified sadly:

What do you think. Thank You Abigor, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:03, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
Its always bad to delete good files but it also very important that a file is uploaded to Commons in a correct way with a free license.

Its like always beter to be safe than sorry and since we don't know if the files where ever free enough I deleted them.
Best Regards,
Huib talk 10:52, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
I guess more and more admins are to busy and some parts are backlogged, but we are getting less backlogs since the Copyvio and other speedy deletions will be emptied every night and the unknown files will be handled within 2 weeks, so when we get some more admins on the DR's we will be backlog free. :) Huib talk 19:46, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Deleted files

Hi Abigor. You deleted these files that i had uploaded/put in my WL.

  1. File:Eien no Mangekyo Sharingan.svg
  2. File:Itachi mangekyou sharingan.svg
  3. File:Izuna Man.svg
  4. File:Kakashi Man.svg
  5. File:Sasuke Man.svg

Motivation was: "In category Other speedy deletions; not edited for 0 days". May you explain it in a better way? Thank you. -- Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop 17:58, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

P.S. May you notify me when you answer me? Thanks. -- Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop 17:59, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
Hello,
All those files where nominated for Speedy deletion because there was a better version and none of the files where in use. All the files are now in the same order as you have put them:
All the tagging was done by Ju gatsu mikka.

This file was deleted with the comment In category Copyright violations; not edited for 0 days. Why did the picture end up in that category? As a sidenote, isn't 0 days very short notice? --Ainali (talk) 14:24, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello,
The file ended up in that category after the uploader told us on the file permission page that he wasn't the author for the image so this image was a copyright violation, otherwhise the picture could have just stayed on Commons.
Copyright violations are a danger for the uploader and for Wikimedia Commons because they can cause bad publicity or even can cost a lot of money for legal cases so its very important that copyright violation get deleted on sight, copyright violations and Out of scope are the only types of files that we can speedy delete according our policy.

Does the file look corrupt on your end? Haukurth (talk) 21:51, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello,
Yes, it seems that I still can't open the file so I believe(d) that it is / was corrupt, but when other people don't have problems with opening the file I'm sure I can live with the fact that I cant open it.
I will try to find out if its a software problem on my site, otherwhise I will need the change to software I use.
Thanks for the note that the file does work correctly.

Profile

As the letter "O" is a vowel, it should be preceded by the word "an".

Consider revising your profile.

Hi,
I think I don't really understand what you're meaning but if its a mistake on my user page feel free to fix it yourself, otherwise could you please inform what you do mean.
Best regards,
Huib talk 18:51, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
"a other" should be "an other" or "another". On the other hand, English uses the plural form for more than one object (User:sterkebak and User:SterkeBak) and the plural indefinite particle is empty. Erik Warmelink (talk) 21:51, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Mass image deletion

Following the talk we had on IRC, I'm dropping you a request to please delete the images listed at User:Waldir/Antweb which aren't deleted yet. The reason for the deletion is explained there. Thanks! --Waldir talk 10:31, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
All the links on the page have a red colour now, it took me 6 minutes to deleted the whole list.
I'm sorry that I couldn't help you this morning when you asked on IRC right away, but I use 2 firefox extensions to delete them pretty fast and since they don't work on FireFox 3 I need my notebook because I still have FireFox 2 there for this kind of jobs.
Best regards,
Huib talk 16:23, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
The problem I have with these mass deletions is A LOT of these images was used, I purposely uploaded every one of mine (well 95% of them) to link into an article in a wikispace. Images that are currently in use SHOULD NOT be deleted yet. In my opinion, or your going to break a bunch of pages that people may not be watching anymore. Some of these ant species pages may get extremely low traffic of people who may actually correct a broken image link.. — raeky (talk | edits) 16:48, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
I don't think that was a problem, I checked not all of them but a lot of them and the files I checked weren't in use.
I just checked the log for CommonsDelinker and only 3 files where in use, I wouldn't mass delete files that where is use because a policy will stop me from doing it and it will cause a lot of work for other people, but when I check 75% of the list and none of them are in use I can't see a big problem, I hope you understand. Huib talk 17:19, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
The ones in my userspace are MOSTLY used and User:Filip em's user space I think are also mostly used, at least the ones I looked at. Some of the ones deleted on his space was used, like these [4], [5], [6], [7]. — raeky (talk | edits) 17:34, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I see that those where in use, and the files linked by CommonsDelinker log where also in use but those files where deleted by Waldir, I'm pretty sure that none of the files that where deleted by me where in use, like I was saying I would not delete files that where in use, it would be against policy. Huib talk 17:40, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
I've corrected those specific broken images. I understand, just wanted to express my concern. Me and User:Filip em are both active and can switch the pages that use our uploaded images to the new versions once they're available and request deletion of the duplicate. I don't think anymore admin mass deleting is necessary, unless they switch the usage as well during the process. — raeky (talk | edits) 17:42, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
I totally understand your concern and I do agree that we don't have to use mass deletion a lot, but when its not in use and its only because they will be uploaded by bot in a later stadium I don't see a real problem, but you do have good point and we should always be very careful when we mass delete. Huib talk 20:42, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

First of all, sorry to almost have got you in trouble, Huib/Abigor :) There's one thing that got me confused, though: Raeky's and Filip em's images seem to be intact; did you delete them and then restore the revisions, or what? I thought that would show up in the logs. Or is Raeky mentioning the ones I deleted? If that's the case, since I only deleted duplicate ones, that shouldn't be much of a problem. Anyway, I understand the inconvenience that must have caused, and I apologize for that. Let's wait for the AntWeb upload to finish, then. I will gladly help on replacing your images once that's done :) --Waldir talk 19:23, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Waldir,
You didn't place me almost in trouble, I'm glad I could help with the deletions but even if I get in trouble after your request it would be my own fault because I'm pressing the buttons and I'm responsible for all that happends after it, but it seems its not a real problem here only some confusion.
The links that Reaky are giving are 4 files deleted by you as duplicates those where not involved in this mass deletion. I worked on User:Waldir/Antweb#Files_uploaded_by_User:File_Upload_Bot_.28AntWeb.29_until_10_Oct_2009 this part of the list, I don't know if you want to delete all the files by Reaky and Filip also because that could be a problem since most of those files are in use and it would be better to replace them all when there are new uploads.
When you need more help please let me know, I would be happy to assist as much as I can.
Huib talk 20:42, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I indeed forgot to check use & replace the dupes with the correct ones. Raeky took care of that, I see. Next time I'll surely be more careful. Thanks a lot for your help. I appreciate your offer to help with the remaining images, but probably we'll have to deal with these images by hand in order to have them replaced where they're used. It's no big deal, though, they're just thirty-something images, from each, it can be done easily. Cheers, Waldir talk 23:01, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Salut. Why did you delete the logo of SetzeVents Editorial? How can there be a copyright violation when the publisher himself provides the file? --Svartvicks (talk) 14:39, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Get well soon!

Hi!
Thank you all,
I have been in the hospital for 84 hours but I'm back home now, I'm still not feeling that great so I will come back slowly but I do miss this project and the people on it very much!
But the most important thing is that I feel much better now than I did a week ago :)

Deleting duplicates

You have deleted file BSicon_KRZrf.svg but it was in use. Please fix what you have broken (and in the future also specify the name of the remaining file in the deletion reason). --Tve4 (talk) 10:35, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Sorry to hear that somthing went wrong. I restored File:BSicon_KRZrf.svg so we can see what the problem and the dupe file. Seems CheckUsage has some problems - I could not see that file was used on all the pages that CheckUsage mentioned. Will try again later problem is fixed before. --MGA73 (talk) 13:08, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
I'm sorry to see that the deletion went wrong somehow, but I am pretty sure that I checked it like always and the CheckUsage didn't give any hits besides the page in the username space in the English Wikipedia.
MGA73 thank you for undeleting the file while I was not online, however I do not understand how the template works so I cant fix it, feel free to replace the file by yourself Tve4.

Now checkusage works properly for me to. But I also have problems with replacement. --MGA73 (talk) 20:36, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
I completed the replacement on the four pages that were left and before I could get to it Shizhao deleted File:BSicon_KRZrf.svg again. So we should be all set. :-) --Captain-tucker (talk) 12:38, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm, whenever I nominate a file for speedydelete, I've already checked for its usage. The only places where those symbols are usually still in use are automated lists of everything in userspace. A list that just exists to list everything – i.e. listing just for the sake of listing – is no legitimate use of a file.
I don't know why there are other occurances I haven't changed, maybe due to some toolserver problems? Strange ... axpdeHello! 12:40, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
