I withdraw my nomination The image was published in this official document and is as such free for usage. Po svojem namenu se taka dela ne razlikujejo od uradnih besedil, zato je treba šteti, da tudi zanje velja izjema od avtorskopravnega varstva.29" This translates as: "Although the law based on the example of the Berne Convention discusses only official texts, in the frame of official jurisdictions other categories of authored works also often appear as parts of the official text, its annex or independently (e.g. urban planning maps in spatial files; drawings of traffic signs; drawings of the national coat-of-arms, of municipal coats of arms [emphasis mine], of flags and the music of the national anthem; sketches and plans from the patent file after the official publication of the patent). In its purpose these works do not differ from official texts, therefore it should be regarded that they are exempt of copyright law too.29"

Hello DancingPhilosopher, I like the way You improved Samo article on English Wikipedia - especially the images ... however I was curious on the origin of File:Samo1.png and it seems, that You claim to be an author. By author I mean the one who had been drawing this drawing. Was it Mr. Branko Jezovnik as written on File:Samo1.jpg ? If so, do we really have permission for the image? Either way, it should not be - in my opinion - labeled as Your work. I think You made derivative work of the original - thats fine, however the original author should be noted to in accordance with CC too (that is if really have the permission for the image in the first place) .
The author of the original image is Mr. Branko Jezovnik, I only made a derivative work - i.e. cleared and made the PNG version with transparent background. I intended to change the image description so that would not erroneously label it as my own work after uploading the derivative work, but as noticed by you, as well, it seems the original one was uploaded on Wikimedia Commons without a proper permission. Therefore both the original and the derivatives should be deleted from the Commons.--DancingPhilosopher (talk) 10:16, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Map of European countries by percent of local Avaaz members
Hi DancingPhilosopher, as long as you don't explain what color means what percentage this map remains incomprehensible. -- Ies (talk) 16:10, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad you think the map is great, thank you. Thanks also for reminding me to update its description which I did today. While you are right that it may be better to upload it under a different filename I must confess - a fault confessed is half redressed - that I didn't do it because I would have to make manual changes in a lot of articles that included the old image (in different WPs, not just the English one). But if a tool would allow me to do it automatically, a bot, or what is such a tool called, then I'd probably change my mind and upload it under a different filename as you suggest; is there any such tool that you are aware of and I could use it? Thanks. --DancingPhilosopher(t/p)13:03, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for uploading File:Gonars concentration camp - sector Gamma.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).
The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Gonars concentration camp - sector Gamma.png]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.
