海門鎮
[edit]Hi! can you please check whether File:Naked Statue of Mr. and Mrs. Wang Jigwei made by Chinese to humiliate them - Haimen, Guangdong 1941.png was taken in ja:広東省 or ja:江蘇省? thx! RZuo (talk) 11:25, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- @RZuo: Hello. I am not sure if the location of the photo is really Guangdong or Jiangsu district because the source does not specify it except 海門鎮. Besides I am not Chinese so that do not know the geography of China in detail. As far as I looked into the source it seems to be taken in Guangdong but it is unclear.--HinokisOfRoma (talk) 19:47, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- thank you very much!
- since it says "東シナ海沿岸の海門鎮", maybe it's in Jiangsu. what do Japanese at the time call the sea outside Swatow(汕頭市)? 東シナ海 or 南シナ海? RZuo (talk) 20:40, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- Don't mention it. The Japanese name of the sea Swatow faces is subtle because the Guangdong region locates around the boundary between 東シナ海 (the counterpart of 東海 in Chinese name) and 南シナ海 (南海) but it may be appropriate to call 南シナ海. If there is no town named 海門鎮 in Guangdong district Jiangsu is correct but I have no means to confirm it definitely. HinokisOfRoma (talk) 08:19, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
- ok. i guess it might be 汕頭海門鎮, because the one in jiangsu was 海門縣 between 1912 and 1980s according to https://www.nantong.gov.cn/ntsrmzf/lsyg2018/content/9cba95cf-96cf-4328-bcfe-56da197da911.html . thx a lot for the research and the very valuable scans of the photos!
