More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (direct access). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing.
- Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your Graphics abilities.
- All your uploads are stored in your personal Gallery
- Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~
- Use the CommonSense tool to find good categories for your files (then other people can find them too!)
- To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:Image:Foo.jpg]], which produces: Image:Foo.jpg
- If you're copying files from another project, be sure to use the CommonsHelper
- Did you want to rename or move a file? Simply upload the file again and mark the old one like this: {{bad name|Correct name}}

Don't know how to title this
[edit]I was looking through the archives of QI things and saw where you were attempting to help. I actually did the same thing you did, perhaps step per step -- with the not understanding the ../ notation (for me this is particularly bad because it is how a linux computer works) and doing the things that the bot already does.
The difference between your attempt and mine is that I stuck with it.
Anyways, the reason I am here is because I wanted to encourage you to try it again (the Critical Review stuff (CR)) is kind of a pain, the rules are weird, two days for non-equal votes, eight days for equal votes; then I like to let them sit there for a while so people can see how it turned out (at least a day), then they are manually moved to the lower portion of that archive you were making the attempt to help with and the promoted get put into one page and a couple of templates get pasted in a couple of places -- it is a little complicated but not too much so. Especially if you were able to work through that ../ notation without having the experience of working with a computer that uses this notation.
So, I am putting you on the list of people who might be good for reviewing the new thingie VI (Valuable Images) and wanted to explain the reasons for this and thank you for trying to help :) -- carol 21:21, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I did not put you on the list, I lost the location for it and have some things I started elsewhere to finish. I am going to suggest that if you can find the new VI Image review (that starts on June 1) that I will also be there and can help you if you want to help there or at QI. -- carol 21:24, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

manual edition cause bug in editing JS tool
[edit]Hey Stephanemartin, I just looked at the diffs at QI/rechently_promoted, but I don't think I understand what was going on there. Looks like the tags appear in new lines. Why? Can you help me understand what kind of bug there was? --Dschwen (talk) 14:13, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- I wrote the details on http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons_talk:Quality_images/Recently_promoted.
