Cannot turn off auto detection of walking and cycling, after latest product update

After the latest product update, my Fitbit inspire has started to track all my walks and when I cycle. I've updated the app to turn it off. I have changed the length of time needed to move. I've tried turning it off in the app and via the computer. I've restarted the device after doing the updates. No matter what I do, my Fitbit starts to record any walk over 5 minutes and it's extremely annoying and drains the battery faster. Please help.

Go to the Exercise App on your wrist.  Separately, select each, before starting, swipe up to see options specific to that exercise type and turn off auto-start.  Apparently the update set that default to "On", as updates are often known to switch defaults.  That option is separate from the auto-detect.  After a few minutes, it makes it as if you had started it from the Exercise App.

P.S. Apparently this wasn't actually a case of Fitbit/Google changing the default with an update.  I see now I guess this option was just added to the Inspire 3, although it was already available on a few other models.

Please explain: "Separately, select each, before starting,"

This is what I see after tapping the "Exercise days" tab: what do I select?

when I tap the "..." I see a small menu

If I tap "Activity Settings", I see this, where everything is "ignored"

When I'm exercising, it will show activities like "Spinning", which I've never seen before

@Geezerhiker  My first sentence, before Separately, ... : "Go to the Exercise App on your wrist."  That means the Fitbit device.  You are looking at your phone app.

Okay, now how do I find this Exercise App on my device?

When I scroll from the clock face I find some thing called “EXERCISE” with a running icon in a circle and “4 of 7”. Is that it?

But nothing happens when I tap or double-tap or swipe left or right.

I found the Exercise App (I think) by swiping left from the clock face. I only found two exercise types (ones that I've never user) and turned off Auto Start. We'll if anything has changed...

@Geezerhiker  Which device do you have?  Although this came up under 'Inspire 3", it could apply to many devices, each of which have an Exercise App.

It won't help unless it was for the exercise type you are having the problem with.  When you only saw 2 exercise types, maybe you a "more" option.
