The journal Asymptotic Analysis fulfills a twofold function. It aims at publishing original mathematical results in the asymptotic theory of problems affected by the presence of small or large parameters on the one hand, and at giving specific indications of their possible applications to different fields of natural sciences on the other hand.
Asymptotic Analysis thus provides mathematicians with a concentrated source of newly acquired information which they may need in the analysis of asymptotic problems.

Abstract: The Child–Langmuir asymptotics of the so‐called 1.5‐dimensional Vlasov–Maxwell, modelling cross field diodes, is investigated. A set of limit problems including magnetically insulated and noninsulated regimes are exhibited and analyzed. The solutions of the Vlasov–Maxwell system are shown to converge towards a solution of the limiting problem.

Abstract: We consider a system of two viscous conservation laws in several space dimensions. The equations are weakly coupled so that the inviscid part of the system is not necessarily strictly hyperbolic. We analyze the long‐time behaviour of integrable non‐negative solutions. More precisely, we are interested by the profile of the first non‐trivial term of the asymptotic expansion of the solutions. The flux function may fail to be C^2 , thus linearization around the zero solution does not apply. We use scaling techniques. Abstract: In this paper we study the coupling of the Navier–Stokes equations and the Cahn–Hilliard equation which stands for a model of a multi‐phase fluid under shear. We first study existence and uniqueness of solutions of the system in dimension 2 and 3 even if the diffusion coefficient is allowed to degenerate. In the last part, an asymptotic stability result is shown.
