- Οι Θέρμες του Λικινίου Σούρα, λατιν.: Thermae Licinii Surae ή Thermae Suranae ήταν ένα ιδιωτικό αρχαίο ρωμαϊκό συγκρότημα λουτρών, που κτίστηκε από τον στον Aβεντίνο λόφο της 8ης Περιοχής (Regio XIII) της Ρώμης. Οι Θέρμες αποκαταστάθηκαν κατά τη σύντομη βασιλεία του Γορδιανού Γ΄. Υπέστησαν ζημιές κατά τη διάρκεια της λεηλασίας της Ρώμης το 410 από τον Αλάριχο Α΄ και αποκαταστάθηκαν ξανά το 414. Τα λουτρά πιθανότατα εξυπηρετούσαν μία πιο εύπορη κοινότητα από τα Θέρμες του Καρακάλλα και ήταν μικρότερα και πιθανώς πιο κομψά. - The Baths of Licinius Sura or Thermae Suranae were a private ancient Roman bath complex built by Lucius Licinius Sura on the Aventine Hill (Regio XIII Aventinus) in Rome. They were restored during the short reign of Gordian III. The baths were damaged during the 410 sack of Rome by Alaric I, and again restored in 414. The baths probably served a more affluent community than the Baths of Caracalla, and were smaller and probably more elegant. Although now no ruins remain, their approximate location was: 41°52′59″N 12°28′59″E / 41.88297°N 12.48315°E, and are partially shown on slab VII-14 of the Forma Urbis Romae, numbered as fragment 21a by E. Rodríguez Almeida. Their location must have been in the immediate vicinity to the west of the church of Santa Prisca, near the Temple of Diana, with the arches of the Aqua Marcia which fed them, passing right along the site of the current church. On the Forma Urbis, to the north of the baths there is also a temple of uncertain identification, perhaps the Temple of Luna or the Temple of Vertumnus, both of which were republican. (en)
- Le Terme Surane erano un complesso termale di Roma antica costruito sull'Aventino ad opera di Lucio Licinio Sura (da presero cui il nome, non molto distanti dalla sua residenza), generale romano amico dell'imperatore Traiano, o dallo stesso imperatore. Dopo il IV secolo non furono più menzionate. Le terme sono parzialmente raffigurate nella Forma Urbis Severiana. Restaurate sotto Gordiano III, e in seguito da Cecina Decio Aginazio Albino, praefectus Urbi, nel 414, per riparare i danni del sacco di Alarico, dovevano ancora essere in funzione nel IV secolo. Esse dovevano servire la clientela raffinata e abbiente dell'Aventino, a differenza delle vicine terme di Caracalla, più grandiose ma destinate a un uso di massa da parte delle genti del quartiere popolare della Regio XIII Aventinus. La loro localizzazione doveva essere nelle immediate vicinanze ad occidente della chiesa di Santa Prisca, vicino al tempio di Diana, con le arcate dell'Acqua Marcia, che le alimentavano, passanti proprio lungo il sito dell'attuale chiesa. De thermen werden aan het begin van de 2e eeuw gebouwd door Lucius Licinius Sura, een belangrijke vertrouweling van keizer Trajanus en driemaal consul van Rome. De thermen stonden bij zijn huis op de Aventijn. Het grondplan en de locatie van de thermen is bekend, doordat het complex gedeeltelijk staat afgebeeld op een bewaard gebleven fragment van de Forma Urbis Romae. De thermen bestonden uit een rechthoekig terrein, waarop zuilengangen en de badgebouwen stonden. Het complex stond ten noorden van de huidige kerk Santa Prisca, waar in het verleden ook restanten van de gebouwen zijn teruggevonden. Uit inscripties blijkt dat de thermen tijdens de korte regering van keizer Gordianus III en in het jaar 414 zijn gerestaureerd. Deze laatste restauratie was nodig, omdat het complex tijdens de Gotische inval van Alarik I in 410 was beschadigd. Tijdens de middeleeuwen raakten de Thermen van Licinius Sura buiten gebruik en werd het complex afgebroken. Er zijn tegenwoordig geen bovengrondse restanten van het complex meer zichtbaar. (nl)
