- La Commune de Lyon est un mouvement révolutionnaire mené en 1870 par des républicains et des militants de plusieurs composantes de l'extrême-gauche de l'époque (radicaux, socialistes, anarchistes) qui a pris le pouvoir à Lyon et mis en place un pouvoir autonome. La commune organise des élections et se dissout après avoir rétabli une normalité républicaine, ce qui frustre les éléments les plus avancés, qui espéraient une révolution différente. - The Lyon Commune was a short-lived revolutionary movement in Lyon, France, in 1870 and 1871 - republicans and activists from several components of the far-left of the time seized power in Lyon and established an autonomous government. The commune organized elections, but dissolved after the restoration of a republican "normality", which frustrated the most radical elements, who hoped for a different revolution. Radicals twice tried to regain power, without success. The Lyon events happened as part of a revolutionary wave in the aftermath of the collapse of the Second French Empire and culminating in the 1871 Paris Commune. (en)
