kristallinem CBN (PKB). Die Auswahl der geeignetsten Diamanttype wird aus einem überaus großen Sortiment
von synthetischen und natürlichen, metallummantelten, bedampften oder unbeschichteten, blockig oder

diamante più adatto viene effettuata tra un vastissimo assortimento di grane sintetiche e naturali, rivestite in
metallo, vaporizzate e non rivestite, a forma arrotondata o irregolare.
Thanks to its chemical properties and hardness, diamond is particularly well suited for grinding hard metals,
hard metal and steel combinations, sprayed and sintered alloys, ceramic, porcelain, majolica, silicon, ferrite,
semiconductors, graphite, electrocarbides, natural and artificial stones, fibreglassreinforced resin, duroplast,
glass, quartz, refractory materials, polycrystalline diamond (PCD) and polycrystalline CBN (PCBN). Natural or
synthetic diamonds are chosen for their inherent properties and may be metal-clad, uncovered, vaporized and
round or irregular in shape depending on the application.
Gracias a sus propiedades químicas y dureza, el diamante es especialmente adecuado para el rectificado de
metales duros, combinaciones de metal duro y acero, aleaciones pulverizadas y sinterizadas, cerámica, por-

wird synthetisch hergestellt, ist hochtemperaturbeständig und wird vorwiegend zum Bearbeiten folgender
werkstoffe verwendet: Vergütungsstähle, gußeisen, Federstähle, Einsatzstähle, hochlegierte Stähle, warm- und
Kaltarbeitsstähle, Schnellarbeitsstähle, Kugellagerstähle und Stellite. Ähnlich wie bei Diamant kann auch bei
CBN aus einem breiten Angebot von Typen mit unterschiedlichen Eigenschaften gewählt werden.
Prodotto sintetico, resistente alle alte temperature, viene usato principalmente per la lavorazione di acciai trat-
tati, ghisa, acciai per molle, acciai da cementazione, acciai altamente legati, acciai per lavorazioni a caldo e a

A heat-resistant synthetic product, CBN is mainly used for grinding the following materials: treated steel, cast
iron, spring steel, steel for concrete, high-alloy steel, hot or cold working steel, HSS, bearing steel and stellite.
Like diamond, the quality of CBN can be chosen from a wide range of types, each with its own unique proper-
ties.

Die eingesetzte Korngröße bestimmt weitestgehend die Schleifleistung und die erreichte Oberflächengüte. Bei
konstantem Karatinhalt steigt mit feinerem Korn die Anzahl der Kornspitzen auf der Belagoberfläche, die
Scheibe wirkt subjektiv dichter, härter und weniger schleiffreudig. Um Spanräume am Schleifbelag zu schaffen
ist es daher notwendig, die Konzentration auf die Korngröße abzustimmen, damit ein zu dichtes Bepacken mit
Körnung verhindert wird. Die Korngrößen werden je nach Ursprungsland unterschiedlich bezeichnet. Der euro-
päische Standard (FEPA) sieht eine größenbezeichnung nach dem mittleren Korndurchmesser vor. Daneben
wird die amerikanische Bezeichnung in US-mesh sowie die Bezeichnung nach DIN 848-65 verwendet.
Nachstehende Tabelle ermöglicht die problemlose Übersetzung unterschiedlicher Korngrößenbezeichnungen.
La scelta della grana viene effettuata in base all’asportazione e al grado di rugosità desiderate. A parità di
caratura il numero delle punte diamantate taglienti presenti sulla superficie della fascia è maggiore per grane
fini, quindi la mola risulta essere più compatta, più dura e meno malleabile. Pertanto è necessario trovare la
giusta combinazione granulometria-concentrazione per permettere lo scarico dei trucioli generati dall’azione
di taglio e impedire che la mola si impasti. La granulometria viene classificata in base al paese di provenienza.
Lo standard europeo FEPA prevede la classificazione in base al diametro medio della grana. molto diffuse sono
anche le tabelle USA-mesh e DIN 848-65. La tavola che segue permette di confrontare le diverse classificazio-
ni:
The grit is chosen according to the quantity of material that has to be removed and the roughness you want
to reach. Carats being equal, a fine grit presents a larger number of cutting edges on the rim; therefore the
wheel is harder, denser and less malleable. It is therefore necessary to find the right combination grit-size/con-
centration, to allow dispersion of the chips; to avoid chip build up, or clogging. The grit is designed according
to its country of origin.The european FEPA Standard classifies the grit according to its average diameter. The
charts USA-mesh and DIN 848-65 are also very popular.The following chart allows a comparison of the different
classifications:

A igualdad de quilates, un grano fino presenta un mayor número de filos en el borde; por lo tanto la rueda es
más dura, más densa y menos maleable. Por lo tanto, es necesario encontrar la combinación adecuada de
granulometría/concentración, para permitir la dispersión de las virutas; para evitar la acumulación de virutas o

Korngrößen kleiner als D (B) 46 werden nicht mehr durch Siebung sondern durch Schlämmung klassifiziert. Für
diese mikrokörnungen werden von uns die Toleranzbreiten der jeweiligen Schleifangabe angepaßt. Daher sind
nachstehend nur die am meisten verwendeten Toleranzbreiten angeführt.

Bei der wahl der Korngröße sind die drei Richtgrößen Abschliffleistung, Standzeit und Oberflächengüte abzu-
wägen. Die Abschliffleistung und die Standzeit richten sich beim Pendelschleifen nach der Zustellung, beim
Tiefschleifen nach der Vorschubgeschwindigkeit und sind durch die Korngröße vorgegeben. Der Kornüberstand
(= Eindringtiefe) beträgt bei optimal eingestellter Schleifscheibenqualität 1/5 bis 1/8 des Korndurchmessers.
Bei definierten Oberflächenanforderungen kann nachstehende Tabelle als Hilfe zur Korngrößenauswahl heran-
gezogen werden. gleichzeitig wird versucht, unterschiedliche Rauhigkeitsmeßgrößen gegenüberzustellen.

e la durata dipendono dalla regolazione nelle lavorazioni pendolari e, in quelle a tuffo, dalla profondità di pas-
sata e dalla velocità di avanzamento. In una mola utilizzata in maniera ottimale la profondità di penetrazione è
pari a 1/5-1/8 della dimensione della grana. Conoscendo la rugosità richiesta si può scegliere la granulometria
da utilizzare mediante la seguente tabella:
Three factors affect the choice of grit: quantity of material to be removed, surface-finish and wheel life.
Removal and wheel-life depend on the adjustment when swing-grinding, and on pass and feed depth when
plunge-grinding. A wheel used properly shows a penetration depth equal to 1/5 - 1/8 of the grit dimension. If
the level of roughness needed is known, it is possible to choose the right grit using the following chart:
Tres factores afectan la elección del grano: la cantidad de material a eliminar, el acabado de la superficie y la
vida útil de la rueda. El desmontaje y la vida útil de la muela dependen del ajuste en el rectificado oscilante y
de la profundidad de pasada y avance en el rectificado por inmersión. Una rueda utilizada correctamente
muestra una profundidad de penetración igual a 1/5 - 1/8 de la dimensión del grano. Si se conoce el nivel de

Die Konzentrationsangabe beschreibt den Diamant- oder CBN-Gehalt des Schleifbelages und ist eines seiner
wichtigsten Qualitätsmerkmale. Üblicherweise werden mit steigenden Konzentrationen höhere Schleifleistungen
erzielt, die Scheibe wirkt härter, d. h. verschleißfester. Ein Volumenanteil von 25 % im Schleifbelag wird als
Basiswert für Konzentration 100 angenommen und beinhaltet 4,4 Karat Körnung pro cm3 Schleifbelag (1 Karat
= 0,2 g). Davon ausgehend werden von uns folgende Abstufungen getroffen.

La concentrazione indica la quantità di diamante o di CBN presente nella fascia diamantata ed è uno dei fatto-
ri più importanti. Normalmente mole con concentrazioni elevate durano più a lungo in quanto più resistenti
all’usura. Il valore base per la concentrazione 100 corrisponde al 25 % del volume della fascia e contiene 4,4
carati di grana per ogni cm3 di fascia (1 carato = 0,2 g). Partendo da questi dati viene generato il seguente
grafico:
The concentration shows the quantity of diamond or CBN in the rim and is one of the most important factors.
A high concentration means the wheel lasts longer, is harder and more wear resistant. The concentration value

Diamant- und CBN-Schleifscheiben werden mit Kunstharz-, Keramik- oder metallbindungen gefertigt. Die wahl
des Bindungssystems erfolgt nach gewünschter/m:

• Freigabe der abgenützten Schleifkörnung • Maschinenzustand
• Abrichtfreudigkeit • Werkzeugform und Dimension
• Festigkeit, E-Modul-Dämpfung, Zähigkeit • Oberflächengüte
• thermischer Beständigkeit • Werkstückmaterial
Die korrekt gewählte Bindung hält das Schleifkorn bis zum optimalen Kornverschleiß im Bindungsverband.
Beim Ansteigen des Schleifdruckes infolge Schneidenabstumpfung wird das Korn freigegeben. Diese ideale
Bindungseinstellung ist Grundlage für den Selbstschärfeffekt unserer Schleifwerkzeuge. Optisch erkennbar
durch den Überstand der Kornspitzen über der Bindungsebene mit gleichzeitiger Ausbildung von Stützkeilen
(Kometenschweife) hinter dem Schleifkorn. Eine zu geringe Kornhaltekraft bewirkt einen zu hohen
Scheibenverschleiß infolge vorzeitiger Kornfreigabe bei gleichzeitiger grober Werkstückoberfläche.
Eine zu hohe Kornhaltekraft hingegen erhöht den Schleifdruck und die Temperatur, die Scheibe setzt sich zu,
verschmiert und verliert die Abtragsleistung. Um die speziellen Bindungseigenschaften voll wirksam einsetzen
zu können, wird die Auswahl aus folgenden Bindungsangeboten getroffen.

di questi leganti dipende da:

Il legante appropriato mantiene la grana ancorata alla mola finché questa non ha subito un consumo ottimale.
Quando il grano diventa ottuso e perde la sua taglienza viene scalzato dal legante lasciando posto a nuovi grani
più taglienti. Questo sistema di agglomerazione dei leganti da noi prodotti è la base per ottenere un effetto
autoravvivante nelle nostre mole e si evidenzia attraverso i taglienti a forma di „coda di cometa“ dietro al sin-
golo grano. Una tenuta insufficiente del legante causa un consumo rapido della mola dovuto ad un rilascio
precoce della grana. Al contrario, una tenuta eccessiva del legante provoca pressioni di lavoro elevate e surris-
caldamento: la mola si impasta e non taglia più. I leganti vengono suddivisi come segue:
The diamond and CBN grinding wheels are manufactured using resin, ceramic or metal bonds. The choice of

The correct bond holds the grit until it is optimally worn. When the grit becomes blunt and loses its sharpness
the bond releases it and gives way to new, sharper grits. This ideal bond agglomeration is the basis of the self-
dressing effect of our wheels, easily recognised through the comet-tail-shaped cutting edges behind each grit.
Insufficient bond holding causes high wheel wear because the grits are released too quickly on coarse surfaces.
On the contrary, excessive holding generates high temperature and pressure: the wheel clogs and loses its free
cutting ability. Bonds are designated as follows:

La unión correcta retiene el grano hasta que se desgasta de manera óptima. cuando el grano se desafila y
pierde su nitidez, la unión lo libera y da paso a nuevos granos más afilados. Esta aglomeración ideal de la
unión es la base del efecto autoafilante de nuestras muelas, fácilmente reconocible a través de los bordes cor-
tantes en forma de cola de cometa detrás de cada grano. La adherencia insuficiente provoca un alto desgas-
te de la muela porque los granos se liberan demasiado rápido en superficies ásperas. Por el contrario, un aga-
rre excesivo genera alta temperatura y presión: la muela se atasca (embaza) y pierde su capacidad de corte
libre. Los ligantes se designan de la siguiente manera:

Als Bindemittel werden Kunststoffe mit unterschiedlichen Eigenschaften eingesetzt. Üblicherweise werden
Phenol-Formaldehyd Kondensationsprodukte und Polyimide verwendet. Hohe Abtragsleistungen, geringe
wärmeentwicklung und daraus resultierende kurze Schleifzeiten sind Vorteile gegenüber den anderen
Bindungssystemen, sodaß über 50 % der verwendeten Schleifwerkzeuge mit dieser Bindung ausgeführt sind.
Das Verschleißverhalten unserer Bindungen wird durch gezielte Kunstharzmodifikation und Zugabe von schleif-
aktiven Substanzen an die gegebenen Einsatzparameter angepaßt. Eine umfassende Reihe unterschiedlicher
Bindungen ermöglicht die Auswahl der jeweils wirksamsten.
Per la preparazione di questi leganti vengono usati componenti aventi diverse caratteristiche. Normalmente si
impiegano prodotti a base di fenolo-formaldeide o resine poli-immidiche. Elevata asportazione, taglio a freddo,
tempi di lavorazione ridotti sono i vantaggi rispetto agli altri tipi di agglomerante e fanno sì che più del 50 %
degli utensili abrasivi attualmente in uso siano prodotti con questo legante. Esso viene scelto e modificato o
integrato in base alle esigenze di lavorazione. Una vasta gamma di leganti ci consente la scelta di quello più
adatto in base alle diverse applicazioni.
These bonds are prepared with synthetic materials of various characteristics. Products based on phenol-form-
aldehyde, resins and polyimide. High removal, dry grinding and short grinding times are the advantages of this
bond: more than 50 % of the abrasive tools used today are made with this bond. The bond type is chosen and
modified or integrated according to the working requirements. A wide range of bonds allows the optimum
choice for individual applications.
Estos ligantes se preparan con materiales sintéticos de diversas características. Productos a base de fenol-
formaldehído, resinas y polimida. Alta retirada de material, rectificado en seco y breves tiempos de rectifica-
do son las ventajas de este aglomerante: más del 50 % de las herramientas abrasivas utilizadas hoy en día se
fabrican con este aglomerante. El tipo de aglomerante se elige y modifica o integra según los requisitos de
