Rainbow Potion is a secret quest item which is can be crafted after collecting all six colors of potatoes and refining them into potions.

Acquisition

It can be crafted after collecting a group of colored potions during a series of hidden quests - all biomes in the valley will need to be unlocked to complete the complete questline. Each of the colored potions are derived from one of the six colored potatoes:

Gleaming Gold Potion (from Mysterious Golden Potato)
Raging Red Potion (from Red Potato)
Electrifying Orange Potion (from Orange Potato)
Brilliant Blue Potion (from Blue Potato)
Royal Purple Potion (from Purple Potato)
Crystalline Green Potion (from Green Potato)

After completing these quests, the colored potions can be combined into a Rainbow Potion.

Use

The Rainbow Potion may be placed inside a small fox statue found to the right of the bottom staircase inside in the Dark Castle to unlock the Rainbow Fox companion. The Dark Castle is unlocked by during the The Dark Castle and is accessible after completion of this quest.

During or after completing the later-game story quest The Dark Castle, the player is able to enter a portal in the Plaza which leads to the Dark Castle. Inside the first room of the castle a small gray stone statue of a fox can be found among the debris. When interacted with, there is a space to insert an item. Place the Rainbow Potion inside and a short cutscene will play of the Rainbow Fox being transformed from stone. After the cutscene, it will be added as a companion.
