with all the emphasis on “eddies straight” i do think his canonical label will end up just being “not straight”. like heavy agree w everyone saying the show does not have the time or nuance or writers to really unpack what eddie being gay means for him and his former gfs i think one episode he will be called straight and he will say what if im not and that will be the canon of it
need more stories centered around a middle-aged female protagonist that isn’t centered around the idea of motherhood
i truly hope non-911 watchers understand the severity and the weight of what’s happening. imagine it is 2012 and sherlock is canonically gay and has sex with moriary in john watsons bed and then accident admits he has feelings for john. that’s the worst sentence i’ve ever written and yet it’s real
had contractors come by and forgot i was wearing this shirt
Really funny to me the worldbuilding stuff they’ve decided to cut so far. Like ‘yeah we know that RJ made not one but two dimension hopping fast travel portal systems, but that’s probably too many to fit in the show, and we can probably do some multiverse stuff another way. also not doing the big carnivorous lizard beasties the seanchan ride cause they’re a waste of resources to animate, or the draculas, because they’re draculas.’
Fun fact about this actually! Rafe has been trying for two seasons to get Draghkar in the show. He tried last season and also for this season but both times VFX shut him down 😭 maybe one of these days he’ll be successful. He mentions it in one of the interviews for this season
Even if we don’t get them there are technically two vampire creatures in WoT since Gholam survive off blood and the Gholam is arguably more important than Draghkar if they keep any part of Mat’s Ebou Dar arc
the order of rodentia sounds like a circle of knights from ages past but you may be surprised to learn these noble warriors are still fighting their holy battles to this day
i hate when ppl act like the only reason to not like a “sad” ending is because you can’t take it or whatever. personally as a tragedy enjoyer, i hate a poorly written ending. i hate an ending that is just kind of a bummer. i hate an ending that feels mean-spirited to the audience. i hate an ending that’s redundant. i love a sad ending that is thematically consistent, poignant, and bespoke to the rest of its narrative.
#if you’ve got to earn a happy ending you’ve got to earn a sad one too
sorry but this is SO funny. at first it reads like Gaebril, loving step-dad, playfulling joking about Galad. But it’s actually Rahvin, Forsaken of the light, who has known Galad for one (1) month and is already like “I can’t stand this guy help.” Galad is pissing off Forsaken through sheer force of personality that’s my boy
Always amusing when people get upset that fictional worlds not meant to resemble established history don’t accurately resemble established history. I’m pretty sure Robert Jordan never intended for the setting to be high medieval, but closer to the renaissance. The show, though, has just embraced the idea that it is all post-apocalyptic and therefore fashion can be whatever they want it to be.
I saw that! I think they later said something like ‘yeah I know it’s not meant to be medieval but that’s how I think of it.’ which is wild, just ignoring the whole post-apocalypse part of the lore that’s a major point of the story.
They can say they don’t like the costumes without making up their own narrative about what was in the books!
If they want medieval costumes they should go watch actual medieval fantasy
I love when we have to argue with a Bookcloak about the books that they made up in their head
someone the other day was commenting on Min’s wardrobe in S3 and was like 'and WHOSE idea was Min’s outfit’
and I just pulled up the description of Min’s clothing from the books, like 'well, Robert Jordan’s, actually’
every time a new character is introduced i’m like ohhhh so that’s how we’re pronouncing that name. oooookay. if you say so
Do you know a family where all the siblings have their first names start with the same letter?
yes and their parent(s) too
yes just the siblings
no
i honestly don’t think we’re talking enough about Mat’s ‘ooh, yeah, cheeky indeed!’ reaction, to him thinking that novice had brought Galad and Gawyn with her, for a fivesome
It Could Happen To You: mediocre tv show with baffling politics has really compelling characters in it
