History of the forest
editI'd like to see more about the history of the forest. I believe that the majority of the cypress trees were clear cut by lumber companies in the late 1950's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by M23 (talk • contribs) 00:56, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Trivia section removed
editI removed the trivia section and the associated comment: To celebrate the 2000 millennium, the American rock band Phish hosted an enormous festival called "Big Cypress" on the nearby Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation. I don't think this really needed to be mentioned in the Big Cypress article as it didn't actually occur in the Preserve. The festival is mentioned on the Big Cypress Indian Reservation. I think that's suffiicent, If you believe otherwise, contact me. --Nebular110 16:13, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Thats fine about removing the trivia section...LOL, my first wikipedia edit got shot down in less than an hour... but i guess thats the beauty of open source. Laughing fall apart 18:01, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
References needed
editThe only thing I see references for in this article is the controversy over use of off-road vehicles. I do see some statements in the article that I think are questionable. I'll work on it when I can, but I will take out statements for which I don't find sources. -- Donald Albury 17:09, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
