This page should be renamed from LGV Nord to LGV Nord-Europe.

Conventional Lines

edit

Before the LGV Nord appeared, what was the route taken by express trains to reach Lille/Brussels from Paris ? Were they electrified beforehand (as they now appear to be) ?

Presumably the routing Paris --> Lille was either via Criel and Amiens (with a reverse at Amiens) or via Criel and Busigny (incl the single line from Cambrai to Douai).

Anybody know ? --Ordew 01:19, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Brussels and Lille where seperate routes, only common until Creil.

  • Lille: Creil, Longueau (close to Amiens), Arras, Douai.
  • Brussels: Creil, Aulnoye (common with the line to Charleroi and Liege), Mons (Belgium).

Both lines are electrified.

Lille-Europe

edit

AFAIK, the LGV continues directly through Lille-Europe station, which no "leaving/rejoining" the LGV as currently mentioned in the article. The speeds maintained through Lille-Europe by non-stopping London-Paris trains support this and I don't recall seeing any CAB signs to indicate leaving TVM. Sladen 03:08, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

You are rigth. I corrected the article.

"This junction is used for TGVs going to Lille-Flandres. All TGVs and some Eurostars stop at Lille-Europe. Non-stop Eurostars pass through a tunnel under the city of Lille at 200 km/h." Some TGVs go through L-Europe while those terminating at L-Flandres dont< so surely not all TGV on LGV Nord stop at Europe. Also there is no separate tunnel for non-stop Eurostars, they go through L-Europe and simply dont stop there. --77.180.224.124 (talk) 17:37, 12 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I added the connection to Dunkirk. It has to be rigth turn, not a left turn. I dont know the correct code for this. There is another minor correction necesary at Calais-Frethun. Just before the station there is a junction wich connect with the lower down platforms off the Boulogne Calais line. A similar drawing as Lille Europe/Flandres is necessary, but this time the branch on the rigth side.
