Population
editThe infobox says 11,890 but then the intro says "The town contains the offices of Ryedale District Council and has a population of around 4,000 people". Does anyone know which is correct? (My guess is that the 11,890 figure is for Ryedale District but I don't want to change anything without checking.) Yorkshire Phoenix (talk • contribs) 14:45, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ryedale district definitely has more than either of those figures. I find one cite saying 4000 : maybe the larger one is for the entire urban area also including Norton, North Yorkshire? Morwen - Talk 14:48, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

edit"Kinderset Early Years Nursery School" is a private enterprise and certainly not the only or the most important/famous educational establishment in the town. Its inclusion here sounds like an advertisement and not worthy of entry into an encyclopedia. --Shakujo 09:33, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
I've amended it. Twoquidtunes 07:44, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Roman Malton
editThe Roman town at Malton is a significant settlement to warrant its own page with a link from the modern town. I will be building this page over the next few weeks and moving the Roman content from here. I've spent a fair amount of time expanding and editing Eboracum and Catarctonium already. Anyone disagree with the idea? Zakhx150 (talk) 10:26, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
- Provided there's a 2-3 para summary here of the Roman town linking to that as a main article, sounds fine to me. Hchc2009 (talk) 11:13, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

Remember, Remember
editThis was a spectacular property and it was described by the diarist and gunpowder plotter Sir Henry Slingsby as the rival of many other great houses, including that at Audley End
Yet another prodigy: Sir Henry, a great Royalist, was born in 1602. Whilst it showed great compassion to employ him after plotting regicide, perhaps his 'involvement' aged 3 elicited forgiveness. Claverhouse (talk) 10:14, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
