This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... the subject wrote the first published academic study of the papacy of Pope Francis, as stated in the article, which, being the first, has understandably influenced and impinged upon the vast array of literature on the topic since 2013. The subject is a prolific journalist whose articles, while mainly written in the Italian language, have had an influence on recent English-language scholarship and continue to be referred to be researchers and authors --Apollinari (talk) 06:28, 8 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... further to my recent contestation, I have added a number of indicators of significance: better quality reliable secondary sources (leading newspapers and periodicals); clarifying details of roles, achievements. --Apollinari (talk) 07:18, 8 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hello Apollinari -- Thanks for improving the article, I have declined the deletion request. Please do continue to work on the article. As you write, detailed coverage in reliable independent sources such as newspapers and periodicals is the ideal way of showing that the subject meets the encyclopedia's guidelines.
