Image
editDavid_Wicks page has an image, so why can't it be used here? 78.86.230.62 (talk) 16:03, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- Fairuse images such as TV screenshots and promo photos are not allowed to be used to illustrate a living person per wiki policy, because they are copyrighted (owned by tv company etc). The idea is that wikipedia is supposed to be a free encyclopedia, so they want people to go out and take a picture of every notable person and donate it, so no one owns the copyright of the picture and it's free. You can only use screen shots if, for instance, there is critical discussion of the role or a specific scene in the text and never in the infobox, but every editor has different interpretations of what's acceptable, which means that more than likely an image nazi will come along and remove it anyway. This is an example of where a fair use image was permitted Danniella_Westbrook#Addiction in a biographical article of a living person.--GunGagdinMoan 17:03, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
BLP
editI have removed the blp violating gossip from the daily Mirror as this is an encyclopedia. The only reason i have kept the gay alegations is because they were also sourced to Tatchell's own website. Thanks, SqueakBox 18:09, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- Right now, his disputed sexuality has been all but removed. One dead source cites the surviving statement about his sexuality. --George Ho (talk) 00:35, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- After checking that source in Proquest, I've removed the statement. The Mirror are quoting anonymous sources claiming that their own previous story (also based on anonymous sources) is what prompted him to leave Eastenders. The source didn't even cite the statement in the article that French himself considered his reputation as the show's heart-throb compromised - it attributes that theory to an unnamed "insider". Also Tatchell's website is unsuitable per WP:BLPSPS. (Related discussion at WP:BLPN#Michael French). January (talk) 10:34, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Michael French page
editI wish to make changes to the above page as there are many inaccuracies - I have been advised to put my intentions on the talk page. I am using many of the sources on the current page but mainly inserting new, accurate text. MickeyDaisyJimmyDipsey (talk) 14:48, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
- Your edits have removed sourced text and replaced it with unsourced. That is why your edits have been reverted. If you continue to do the same, you will be blocked from editing. --David Biddulph (talk) 18:43, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
Michael French edits
editI wish to make edits to this page. Could you please advise if I need to obtain an editing template? MickeyDaisyJimmyDipsey (talk) 19:30, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
- I'd strongly suggest, given the many inappropriate, unsourced and promotional edits you've made, and this admission of a conflict [1], that you let this go. Otherwise I'll request a user block, and add a WP:COI template to the article. 73.186.215.222 (talk) 05:13, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
Nick Jordan
editIs Michael French returning to the role of Nick Jordan in Casualty in 2024 as stated in the Filmography if not should it not be removed so it doesn’t give fans of Casualty false hope?. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dazza20006 (talk • contribs) 09:45, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
