The Upemba masked weaver (Ploceus upembae) is a species of weaver in the genus Ploceus.[2] Some taxonomists regard it as a subspecies of the Katanga masked weaver (Ploceus katangae). Based on how recent the split was, it has not yet been estimated how large the population is, and therefore it is listed as data deficient. It has a decreasing population trend.[3]
