editHi. When you recently edited Araniko Highway, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Barhabise (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Coordinates on Geetaldaha and Mogalhat
editIn both cases you say the coordinates are approximate. If you have just guessed where the station might have been between the two adjacent known points, then the coordinates should not have been added to the article at all. Coordinates are like everything else here, they must be verifiable, but in the case of coordinates that means that you ought to be able to go to those coordinates (or view the location on a satellite image) and confirm that the coordinates are correct: that is, that what is supposed to be at those coordinates is, in fact, there. Alternatively, they can be verifiable through a reliable source, of course. But they shouldn't be included unless they can be verified. When the exact location cannot be identified, the proper method is not to add unsourced coordinates and then post a {{geodata-check}} tag, but is instead to just not add the coordinates to the article and add a {{Coord missing|region name}} tag at the bottom of the article, preferably just above the template and category tags. For region name, the template instructions say: "Either one of the country names used in the subcategories of Category:Articles missing geocoordinate data by country, or a smaller area, such as a state or province, where that sub-subcategory exists or is warranted. Where a particular country cannot be identified, one of the continent names used in the subcategories of Category:Articles missing geocoordinate data by continent should be used instead." For the sake of full disclosure, however, I must admit that geodata-check tags generally get addressed pretty quickly whereas there is a huge backlog (currently 168,119) of coord missing tags. For that reason, I'm going to leave your geodata-check tags in place for another few days but if no one responds with actual coordinates, I'm going to decline the check requests, remove the coordinates from the articles (but not the bridge coordinates, they're fine), and put in coord missing tags. If you have objections to that process (or if the current coordinates are more accurate than would appear from your comment) please reply here on your talk page and we'll discuss the matter. Best regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 17:16, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- In both the articles removed the coordinates and added coordinates missing tag. Sorry, for all the trouble and thanks for the clarification. Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 02:02, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Hydrology vs. hydrography
editYou created a number of templates entitled Template:Hydrology of ... , but they contents of those seem to deal just with the surface hydrography of the specific regions and not with hydrology at all. For comparison, see Template:Hydrography of Slovenia. What do you think about renaming them? You may answer here. --Bejnar (talk) 01:10, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, Dr. Blofeld introduced the concept of Hydrology here and I have followed that. It is better to have his opinion. Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 01:31, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Template CoB Some More Changes
editI have made some more changes in the draft of Template CoB.
I have used the color of "Kochi Kola Pata" as the background color. There were some formatting errors too, (eg. headings 5, 7, 8, 9 10 etc Heading|<span style="color:white;"></span>, here "Heading should be after span style like <span style="color:white;">Heading</span>, I have not seen the original template. most probably these are mistakes of that original template
- Check the colors, if you think some colors should be changed, you can do it your self (feel free to edit in my sandbox), or ask me make the changes, you can also pick the colors from this site http://www.colorpicker.com/, I generally use this site. Anyway, I have corrected these!
- Also note, at the bottom I have used big letters for "Bengal Portal", since it is a Portal, do you think it's necessary?
- If everything is fine, I'll revise the template one more time, then you can make changes in original template!
And, here is the link: User:Titodutta/sandbox#Template_COB --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 16:53, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- So, you can change the code now (you have made some changes in main template, image size etc, you need to change in current template! --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 02:53, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
Template CoB V2
editI have made further changes in Template CoB, you can se it in my sandbox. Note that this time, I have reloacted the image after title.
Can you tell me the exact color of "Lal Mati? (which is found in Rarh region (Bengali: রাঢ়) - Bankura, Birbhum, Puruliya)? You can get the color code from here http://www.colorpicker.com/? I wish to use the "Lal mati" color as heading bg! --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 03:49, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Why so sad?
editSpread the peace by adding {{subst:Peace pipe}} to someone's talk page! You can use a parameter to insert the name of the recipient and add your own text to the message with a second. Smoking this wiki-peace pipe does not affect your health.
"With Bangladeshi aggressiveness at a high pitch, I withdraw from this page. Bangladeshi Wikipedians can go ahead and do whatever they like. I will not be part of it anymore." - That was pretty disconcerting. What happened? I hope I have not hurt your feelings. If you need help/support/whetever to curb any aggressiveness, Bangladeshi/Mdagascan/Maori/whatever, you can buzz me up, and situation permitting I will be at your side.
While at Wikipedia we are primarily Wikipedians, not Indian/Hindu/Bangladeshi/Pakistani/Muslim/whetever. We only work on those country related topics because we know them better, not to push an ideology or start a war. In fact, I often seek help from Indian, Pakistani and even English editors when editing Bangladesh related articles, bacause their interests may overlap. And, believe you me, I do get plenty help.
Interstingly engough, some of the most awesome supprt I had was from editors who were Native American, Japanese born Canadian and Iranian born Hawaiian. I also have very fond memories of editors from Israel, England, Germany, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Russia. I don't want you to withdraw because someone was a badass. I want you and everyone else to withdraw or engage because there's an encyclopedic reason. Cheer up, dude. Aditya(talk • contribs) 04:03, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- I absolutely believe this originated from wikistress resulting from the irritating edits of Kmzayeem (talk · contribs). We need to make that user appreciate the cultural share between Bangladesh and West Bengal. --Dwaipayan (talk) 04:28, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Valuable time!!!
editHuh! Don't say this (valuable time etc). You are one of the most prolific wikipedians from West Bengal, and India. And what I find is you just continue to edit rather silently! And your huge contribution remains often unappreciated. I, being almost absent from Wikipedia for the last 3 years, could not really interact with you much (although I would love to do so). It is a pleasure to collaborate with you, whether in an article, a discussion page or some other forum.
Aditya is also a very good wiki-friend (although interaction decreased in the past 3 years due to my relative absence from Wikipedia). He, Ragib and many other Bengali wikipedians have been great friends. The editor (Kmzayeem) recently doing all those edits in talk pages, I strongly believe, would also become a good friend and valuable editor with some guidance and redirection.
I think I correctly identified the reason for your sudden unusual frustration. Please continue the invaluable edits and improvements that you do, especially related to India-related articles. Dispute, conflicts of notion are part and parcel of editing. Those will come along, and be resolved. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 02:03, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Article about Radha Thomas
editI am currently working on the Wiki page for Ms Radha Thomas. She is an Indian jazz singer and songwriter. In fact, she is known as a diva in the Indian jazz scene. She previously was with the band Human Bondage and has sung and performed globally. The article is still under development. I haven't completed it or submitted it for review yet. Lauterbrunnen Wall
editThanks for the pic, but that isn't the Lauterbrunnen Wall. It's a minor bit of rock in the Lauterbrunnen valley. Ericoides (talk) 16:51, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. The Wall is composed of the north faces of the mountains at the end of the valley (i.e. the Gletscherhorn, Ebnefluh, Mittaghorn, Grosshorn, Lauterbrunnen Breithorn). These mountains are 1. a long way away from the bit of rock you photographed, which is in the Lauterbrunnen valley below Mürren, and 2. glaciated and much, much higher than that bit of rock. Please read the Lauterbrunnen Wall article to see what the Wall is. What you have photographed is a rock face in the Lauterbrunnen valley. If you'd taken a pic of the north faces any of the mountains listed above then you could title the caption "Lauterbrunnen Wall". Thanks, Ericoides (talk) 07:13, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
- I now see why you thought it was the Wall. I've amended the wrongly captioned pic on the Lauterbrunnen page to include the phrase "the Lauterbrunnen Wall in cloud (background)". The Wall isn't the bit of rock on the right. It's a big bit of rock, but compared with the north face of the Jungfrau opposite it, for instance, it's tiny! If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
Hi there. It seems that you've made a bunch of templates that link to other templates. I'm not so sure that's a good idea. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:40, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

Templates
editHello again. When creating templates such as Template:Paschim Medinipur topics, I suggest using subgroups instead of bolding items within a group. Visitors won't really know that items after the bold are considered subgroups. Many thanks, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 11:18, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

Some article suggestions

Help required for copyediting
editDear Chandan Guha, currently I have nominated my new article Amdavad ni Gufa for DYK at Template:Did you know nominations/Amdavad ni Gufa. But reviewer recommended to get another person for copy editing as my copyediting was not satisfactory. I request for your help in copyediting. Regards. --Nizil (talk) 11:02, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for December 29
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Adra railway station, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Adra (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
