I have previously edited using the IP address 88.97.48.225 (contribs). All edits from this IP address up to and including July 2011 are by me; later edits are mostly by others. My subsequent edits are from the PartTimeGnome account, except for the odd test of logged-out editing that I clearly note in my edit summary.

About me
editI am a software developer living in Stockport (UK). I previously worked in Winchester, and went to university at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
I have interests in computer programming, science fiction, anime and puzzles. I initially learnt computer programming on a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A home computer – which I still have in full working order!
Those who know me probably find my most notable features to be a colourful tie-dye T-shirt, a very loud alarm clock (no longer functional) and an "I'm strange" song I used to sing.
Projects
edit- Finding and correcting spelling mistakes. (I'm a Wikipedia:Typo Team member.)
- Updating and improving Help:Wikipedia: The Missing Manual. See the to-do list on the talk page if you'd like to help too.
- Wikipedia:Service awards and the associated service award templates.
- Providing assistance at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical).
Technical stuff
editI do almost all of my editing from computers running Opera 12 on 64-bit Linux.
My Wikipedia preferences are set to use the Monobook skin. I edit with JavaScript disabled (for a multitude of reasons), so I don't use any user scripts. However, I have heavily customised my Wikipedia experience with custom CSS.
I have experience of programming in BASIC, Pascal, Turbo Assembler, Java, BASH shell scripting, C, C++, C#, PHP and Asterisk dial plan. I can pick up new languages fairly quickly.
