vandalism

Hi . what you have don in this page is vandalism . you have deleted historical material all with references the language such as turkish persian and Arabic that you may not read it [1] if you repeat it I should report you to the board . 06:44, 19 May 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Basp1 (talkcontribs)

Hey there @Basp1, reverting vandalism is not edit warring and I would advise you to re-read my RV summary on why I have reverted to the last stable version by @EdJohnston. Furthermore, if I were in your position I would tread carefully WP:PROXYING on behalf of banned editors is not permitted: Editors who reinstate edits made by a banned or blocked editor take complete responsibility for the content. and I find this canvasing call-to-action to be concerning as well. Hope that helps you, take care ♾️ Contemporary Nomad (💬 Talk) 07:00, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi . with respect to your interest on the Arabian peninsula issues , as you considered I did not revert what was don by previous banned editor I am just in favor of giving more information to the reader who can not read Arabic and persian and Turkic. no other intention, i had read the matter for many times I had cheqed the sources many times. i see it necessary the this information be on the page without Censorship . if you could help with another sources will much appreciated .first of all please answer the simple question what was wrong with the maps with different name of arabinan sea ?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Basp1 (talkcontribs)
some maps with historical names Basp1
As stated in the summary: Some of the sources that you have cited are WP:QS, WP:CIRC, and others are listing the names of medieval books with no way to easily verify it (you haven't provided a link to those books other than the Arabic/Persian native names?). Another significant WP:QS issue is citing a book called ''Documents on the Persian Gulf's name: the eternal heritage of ancient time' (Author:Ajam, Muḥammad) with a broken link which appears to be a book that you have created a Wikipedia article for back in 2012 if I'm not mistaken(?) and got deleted in this Afd discussion in May 2012 which you were a part of. It also appears that there was an issue of sock puppetry in that discussion. Furthermore, in that discussion you wrote: yes my field of study and research is a little bit similar to Dr. Ajam but he is also a famous linguist but i am not. HE is this and i am another scholar which I assume here by Dr.Ajam you mean the author of the book that you've tried to cite in your edits, am I correct in that assessment? Here's hoping this doesn't also boils down to WP:COI because honestly it becoming more tedious to keep track of all the issue(s) in this WP:WAR.
Finally, regarding your statement that you don't want to revert the banned user edits but to provide an alternative name for the reader. Again, I advise you to re-read @Tamzin comments and advice to you on WP:POV pushing. You're free to contribute in the article with WP:V sources, I would even help you with that. But you don't do that by RVing and using deprecated sources or sources that are being disputed currently, if you want to advocate in favor of those citations perhaps it's best to start discussing the issue in the article talk page first. Hope that helps ♾️ Contemporary Nomad (💬 Talk) 07:56, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

atlases and maps

edit

Hi. I had asked a very simple question :" please answer the simple question what was wrong with the maps with different name of arabinan sea ?? can we keep this part in the text? do you think the fairy tale that you had wrote above is answer of my question?? why you are hiding the maps that have been published many times in different reliable books and atlases? thank you. 2- there are hundreds of books and atlases . I do not advise a single book or article. you can search the word "persian sea" in google but in Arabic alphabet not in English : بحر فارس you will find text of some of medieval Arabic books : [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] i can send you more than 100 text but would you please send me a single text of arabic mentioned the arabian sea befor 18 century? it will be very useful if you show a text. among the many atlases I can refer you to Atlas of La Péninsule Arabique dans les cartes Européennes Anciennes (The Arabian Peninsula in Old European Maps).Paris, Monde Arabs institute and Tunisia university IMA & Khaled. Al Ankary, 2001. ۴۲۴ pp. contains ۲۶۰ maps with details about each map in 3 languages: Arabic, English and French. Almost all of these 260 maps have the correct name of Persian Gulf. Moreover, 10 maps have used both Persian Gulf for the persian gulf and also persian Sea (for the body of water which is now called Arabian sea) •[8] Hi ,HELLO. please look at the page [9] I tried to refer to other sources although there are many source in Arabic and persian and not in English. please help to make it better any how I will publish it at the end in the main page. 01:02, 20 May 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Basp1 (talkcontribs)

Hey there @Basp1. I apologize I'm currently unable to review or help you with the section edit. I would advise you to refer to the Teahouse and post it there to see if there are editors who are willing to review the edit and sources for you. I want to also clarify that it's ok to use Arabic and Persian sources they don't have to be in English. However the main issue with your previous edits were WP:CIRC (using Turkish, Persian and Arabic wikipedia as a source) and WP:QS the "Persian Gulf studies" website which doesn't seems to be WP:NPOV. It's ok to use Arabic or Persian medieval books but if you can please provide a link to access the book in question and if you can provide a direct qoute it would be 100% much better. Hope that's helpful ♾️ Contemporary Nomad (💬 Talk) 09:27, 21 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • thank you so much, I wish you and others also help make it more reliable and precise.
  • Hi . I just want the readers to know what the old names of this sea were. It is everyone's right to know. Nothing should be censored. What you are doing is [10] destructive. Of course, this is mostly due to the language barriers and problem. according to the book

"The Persian Gulf throughout history page 6 -7 by Dr Pirouz Mojtahedzadeh [11] , "The Persian Gulf, from Ancient Times until Today". and *"The History of Shipping in Iran" page42 Ahmad Eghtedari and "Documents on the Persian Gulf's name facts pages 58-84 [12], [13] and other scholar that :"old Arabic and Persian books have used the Persian Sea. they did not used the term "Arabian Sea" Arabian sea appeared in the European maps of 16 century". unfortunately you don't accept the reference to the recent articles by famous scholars so I refer you the original old text for example Abu'l-Fida,pages 26- 27 [14] [1] ,Zakariya al-Qazwini, Al-Masudi [15] ,Ibn Hawqal [16]. [2] (Hafiz-i Abru).[17] the Arabic text and you can not understand that text with Google translate , for example, this link is the text of the book Abu'l-Fida [18] you should type the word بحر فارس (persian sea) or Arabian sea بحر عرب and search for the words Persian Sea and Arab Sea in the text of the books . But unfortunately you do not do this and you say that the sources are not reliable. What source can I bring better than the text of the original book itself?. revert of my edits with the references is not fair. you can just remove any part that you think is not relevant. 00:51, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Vandalism you've reverted before

edit

Hello, I just noticed the vandalism of جيبا_سميحة_توري (talk · contribs) on several articles and I noticed you've already fixed some of them from a few months ago. I was wondering if you have given them warnings then, and whether they should be reported now. High surv (talk) 08:57, 7 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
