My inappropriate template use
editI have just commented on Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)#False ads in fundraising campaign? and asked for more info. After saving I noticed the hover text over the [who?] template says "Avoid weasel words". My sincere apologies if this causes offence. All I meant was to ask you who is working on it, in a clever, wannabe Wikipedian way! As soon as I saw it I remembered seeing something along the way in Help about "not templating the old hands", so again, my apologies. Kind regards, Bricaniwi (talk) 13:00, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
- That's fine :) - I've replied on WP:VPP. Prodego talk 15:27, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
I agree with some of your comments regarding that template. Would you be willing to work with me to clean that template up, in accord with some of the other intelligent suggestions made there? -Stevertigo (w | t | e) 04:59, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. I haven't worked on actual templates before, which is one reason I started a discussion rather than actually trying to modify it myself right away. And I haven't done any research of sources to support my ideas - have you? Also, as you might gather by the time lag since your message, I don't have a lot of time at the moment, so discussions may be prolonged! (And by the way, I thought my profile settings meant I would be emailed if anyone left a message on my Talk page, to save me checking just in case, but I didn't get anything when you left your message. How do you get that to happen?)
- But yes, let's discuss. I suggest Template_talk:Close_relationships is the place to discuss. Please add your responses there about which comments you agree with, and alternatives to the others. And, re that Talk page, I'm surprised / disappointed no one else has responded to my comments at all! Should we post a request for comment somewhere else? Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
