ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:43, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

XfD poll suggestion

edit

Hi Diriector Doc! I cannot see the Google Form in advance of it opening, but I'd encourage you to include in it a vote for best non-XfD prank. I find that such pranks are often more complex/creative than XfD ones, and we should be encouraging that by offering recognition. Sdkbtalk 15:22, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I was considering something like that. I also had the idea for other categories, like "favourite prankster" where people nominate someone to receive special recognition.
I will definitely add to the Google Form. You will not be disappointed. Diriector_Doc├─────┤TalkContribs 15:28, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks a lot for running this year’s April Fools Day poll. The poll is an awesome way to wrap-up April Fools Day and I always enjoy reviewing the result charts. See you in 2025! Spirit of Eagle (talk) 00:43, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Purge

edit

If you see unexpected red warning messages after an edit purging wikipedias own cache https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Eyjafjallaj%C3%B6kull&action=purge is your friend. This error happens if the backend wiki servers get overloaded. With normal wikipedia functioning this page is processed in half the time it takes to generate this message. Ah. Thank you. I was very confused to see that every template was broken, and even more so when looking through the history to see what change could have possible broken things.
I appreciate the explanation. Diriector_Doc├─────┤TalkContribs 16:20, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
