Speedy deletion of Delta Classic

College Football Project request

Hello! You are listed as an active member of the College Football Project! We have a large number of unreferenced biographies of living persons, but it works out to be just two or three articles per active participant. Silas Hunt

The problem is that every state has its flagship university with its law school, and that could result in 50 "African-American firsts" (not to mention the medical schools). More Magic

Thanks for your efforts to improve Magic Johnson. I notice that in your citations such as this one, your formatting differs from the existing citations by adding "from" to the source of the work, e.g. "From sodexomagic.com." Since this is a featured article, it would be good to keep the formats consistent. Thanks for the feedback. I do see the changes you are suggesting, and I plan to go over my citations again. The citation style you mentioned is something I developed on my own, over time. My main goals were adding information about the Magic Johnson All-Stars, and expanding on Magic's coaching stint and last comeback. Magic Johnson

You know, the more I look at this, the more confused I get. I typed in some of his siblings' names and found a relevant passage in Johnson's own biography: [1]. From there, it would appear that he is one of seven children, not including the stepchildren. I wonder if he was misquoted in the article I linked to earlier. Attention: WikiProject African diaspora participants

Hello fellow project participants. Not sure how many users are still active as normal Wikipedia editors but felt the need to attempt to get a gauge on who can be called on for help with articles falling under the umbrella of the African diaspora project. According to the project's article table there are over six thousand articles related to the African diaspora; there's not a hundred at FA/GA grade and there's over twelve hundred that are unassessed. With Wikipedia being one of the major information reference points in the world today we should consider this unacceptable. Much work needs to be done on the rating of the importance of articles as well. With more communication amongst participants and a dedication to addressing the articles on the to-do list I believe we can make this WikiProject one of the most well organized and thorough on the site. If you are interested in collaborative work with some of your fellow project members, have certain expertise on any particular subjects, ideals on/about the WikiProject, etc. simply drop your name under the "Project revision" section I've created on the project's talk page and state your intentions and main points of interest in our WikiProject and we can attempt to move forward from there. AfroCine: The Months of African Cinema Continues….

Greetings!

Thank you very much for signing up to participate in the Months of African Cinema global contest/edit-a-thon, and thank you for your contributions so far.

It is already the middle of the contest and a lot have been achieved already! We have been able to get over 200 articles created in over seven (7) languages! The figures soars to up to a thousand, if Wikidata entries are included. AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

2019 US Banknote Contest

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.
