Dual citizenship
Hi there. I don't think your point regarding dual citizenship is correct. Please refer to the terminology Pakistani Americans, which is about Pakistanis in America, not all of whom are necessarily dual citizens. That would be faulty reasoning and in contradiction with the way all such hyphenated terms are used. Regards, Mar4d (talk) 12:28, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
- My information is the the lead should only contain the nationality of the person, with the birthplace/ethnicity mentioned separately as it done on Khan's article. So if the text in the article reads "Pakistani-born American" the ethnicity is separate whereas with "Pakistani-American" you're combing those two into one word which could be misleading.DragonFury (talk) 13:57, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
- That's not quite how hyphenated identities are used across Wikipedia (e.g. Satya Nadella), but I'll let it stay for now as I don't want to make a big deal out of it. Thanks, Mar4d (talk) 14:26, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
Adding something to an article
Hi. What are the rules for game summaries and how is that I'm adding nothing to an article? I'm so confused. Usually the game summaries are supposed to help the reader understand what happened during a game and the effect it has on the team. I'm not wrong, the Jags were the only team in their division that lost to all of their NFC opponents in 2019. So what adds something to an article? 209.160.222.2 (talk) 15:34, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
- While there are no hard and fast rules about what should go in the text of a game summary, they should mostly contain information about the game that can't already be gained from reading the boxscore or the rest of the article. Specifically, mentioning that the Jags lost all their games against NFC opponents is superfluous; a reader can already learn that from reading the Schedule section. Same goes for listing the final records of the other AFC South teams; that's already shown in the Standings section. For an example of a good game summary, see the text under the boxscore for the Divisional Play-off game against Denver after the 1996 season. The playoff game summaries for the 1999 season are also very decent, albeit a bit short. DragonFury (talk) 16:12, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
- Oh, I get it. I didn't know. But still, the article about the 2019 Jags looks incomplete. It doesn't tell the reader anything about Nick Foles suffering a clavicle injury in week 1 and being replaced with then-rookie Gardner Minshew for the majority of the season, so it really should say that. Thank you. 209.160.222.2 (talk) 16:53, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
I do not know why you reverted my edit, because my later edit specifically separated SM the Ballad from other SNSD-sister groups. Please explain to me how the lengthier wording is better than my edits, especially when I explained that "in 2007, which" is grammatically incorrect. Ippantekina (talk) 14:25, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
Hello,
I'm curious about this revision to the James Robinson page, but didn't see a reason listed for the revision. I've seen it a trend to add the years for newer players, so I went back and added for a bunch of other running backs. Is there a policy against this? Thanks! --Engineerchange (talk) 11:14, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Engineerchange: I wasn't aware of that trend and I was always under the impression that it was only needed for the section listing the professional teams. Personally, I think it's a bit superfluous, but if it's the consensus to add the years for college as well I'm fine with that. DragonFury (talk) 11:41, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
- @DragonFury: Yeah, I can see how it can be construed as superfluous. I think there's people that don't see college career "as notable", but the template does use college years as the example. For me as a bit of a nerd, it's fun to quickly know, "oh, wow, they were only in college for 2 years before going to the NFL draft." Thanks for getting back to me! Cheers, --Engineerchange (talk) 12:11, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
RE:Twitter
I understand we're not supposed to use Twitter as a reference, but we are going to need to replace the reference that is there because the Spotify playlist is going to change every week. yawaraey (talk) 13:45, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
Red Bull
Red Bull Powertrains is the full name manufacturing, like Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains. from Bahrain onwards the power unit name is displayed only as Red Bull, as the current case only Mercedes. Indeed, we don't read AlphaTauri-Red Bull Powertrains, but just AlphaTauri-Red Bull, McLaren-Mercedes, not McLaren-Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains. New Band-Maid Photo
Thanks for the new Band-Maid photo, and congrats for seeing them in Dallas. I was at the show in Philadelphia a few nights later. I had taken the old infobox photo in NYC in 2019. That one was blurry because my phone at the time (and/or my hands) couldn't withstand massive sound waves, and I was never too happy about it but it was better than anything else Wikipedia had at the time. I'm cool with my 2019 pic being moved down to the History section. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 17:08, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- I gotta admit, though it wasn't the primary reason why I went to see them on their US tour, it was one of things I wanted to get done. Luckily I got a good shot in Dallas so I could spend the rest of the tour mostly enjoying the shows. I did get a few other good shots that I want to integrate into their Image and Music section later on, specifically close up shots of Miku and Misa to show their maid costumes, I could use some help with integrating those photos into the articles.DragonFury (talk) 20:30, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- I think that more photos would make the article look cluttered, though the current one in the Image and music section is five years old and could be replaced. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 12:34, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
U.S. distinction on player pages
Hi DragonFury,
I put U.S. back on Josh Lambo's page. Believe me, I said the same thing you did and now there's a discussion about it on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Football League under U.S. distinction. Yes, many players don't have it, but we're working together to get it put on for all the NFL players. So far hundreds have been done by several editors over the past few days. Please check out the discussion page. We'd hate to do this all over again.
Thanks in advance, Bringingthewood (talk) 04:16, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
Why cap this table entry?
What is your reason for reverting for capitalized Did not play due to injury here? Dicklyon (talk) 10:51, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
- Because it is a complete sentence. Those start with capital letters. DragonFury (talk) 12:26, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
- If it was intended as a sentence with elided subject, it would be terminated by a period, no? It looks to me more like a verb phrase, or sentence fragment, which we would not cap as a table entry. Sort of like "withdrew", which is usually found lowercase. Dicklyon (talk) 11:13, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
Oops, wrong person
Welp, this is pretty embarassing. Seeing as I seem to have confused Momo for Moa, could you help me locate a CC BY image for Momo's infobox? This video has the appropriate licencing, and I presume a good (if low-quality) shot of her somewhere, but I'd like some help to get a shot of the actual person and not have a repeat of this situation. I'll blame my partial facial blindness on my autism or something I guess. Anyway, thanks in advance. ArcticSeeress (talk) 17:21, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
YOU!
Why did you revert my edit? 2600:4040:9B07:AD00:C8B7:E9B:5D16:6BD2 (talk) 14:13, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

- Really? The part where it says I, the copyright holder of this work isn't enough to tell you who has the copyright for that image? Alright then, how do I add what should already have been blindingly obvious to anyone to this image? DragonFury (talk) 07:02, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
Updating articles mid game
Hey DragonFury. I noticed your edits to 2023 Jacksonville Jaguars season, updating the article as each team scores, and I wanted to ask that you wait until matches are concluded instead of updating the article as each team scores. Wikipedia is not a live ticker and I'd argue those updates imply that the match was completed to casual fans and that nobody scored the rest of the game. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:34, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- I've been notified of the "not a live ticker" policy before and in response I now hide these edits while the game is still ongoing and I mention so in my edits. No casual fan in need of a game update is going to come to Wikipedia, find the Jaguars season article, and then hit the "edit" button to check the article's code to see if there's any scores. I've been adding scores in this manner for years and I have no intent of stopping.DragonFury (talk) 18:05, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
About your edit description on the Hanabie. article.
Hey DragonFury if you are reading this, then I would like to apologize for any inconvenience I might have caused you. I am still new to editing and I really appreciate all the help you have provided. Turning the History section into long paragraphs for the sake of it was not my intention. I rewrote the whole section trying to address the issues mentioned on the copy edit template to the best of my ability. I was using featured articles on similar topics as a reference for tone and style. Since I saw longer paragraphs being used there, I didn't realize I was making the article worse by using longer paragraphs. Once again, my sincere apologies in case my edits have annoyed you. Also, it would be much appreciated if you could say things more politely next time, as your edit summary targeting me seemed to be a little rude. Anyways hope you have a good day.

@onefive Article on English Wikipedia
Hello DragonFury,
I saw that you edited pages related to Babymetal, and I was wondering if you would be interested in assisting in the effort to translate the page of the Japanese artist @onefive (which has some loose relations to Babymetal through Sakura Gakuin and Kano Fujihira) from Japanese Wikipedia to English Wikipedia. I have an intermediate understanding of the Japanese language and am a native English speaker, and I have prepared a page here in English on the topic of @onefive, based on the Japanese article, with great care in regard to accuracy, grammar, and tone https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:User350/@onefive
It seems that Japanese Wikipedia has different norms on artist pages, and so I did not literally translate every single item, as I believed they would have would been excessive or inappropriate for English Wikipedia, and perhaps even for Japanese Wikipedia. Rather, the translated page is more of a paraphrase or summary, including some additions and clarifications. I had been making edits to the original Japanese version of the page before deciding on making a new English version. I added many new citations, perhaps a few too many, but I wanted readers to have a high level of confidence in the accuracy of the article, despite the fact that the vast majority of the citations, though not all, are in Japanese. Therefore, it is not a 1-1 translation, but rather a page which I tired to keep concise and factual as much as possible, and one which I feel is appropriate for the norms of English Wikipedia.
The issue, however, is that I do not yet qualify as an extended confirmed user, and so I cannot publish the page. That is why I am kindly requesting if you could please review the English article at the aforementioned link, and if appropriate, publish it on English Wikipedia.
Two areas of concern that I have are that, first, although I included extensive citations from a variety Japanese sources, I would prefer to find more English sources to complement them in the near future, though this can be done after publication. Second, I used tables for the discography as in the original Japanese article. I have seen tables on English Wikipedia for the discographies of some artists, but I have also seen some other pages on artists that use bullet points instead with far less information. I feel that the table format provides useful information for readers, but from a stylistic point of view, it is an item to think about.
Please take your time in reviewing, but also let me know what you think.
Thank you,
@onefive Article Follow-up
Hi DragonFury,
It appears that another senior editor has already approved the article after I submitted it thorough the sandbox. The page/URL under my username that I had linked to in my previous post, which I was using to draft the article, has been set for deletion.
Even though the article has been published, for some reason, it does not link to the Japanese article at the translation drop-down menu.
In any case, thank you for your consideration of the matter. I will work on improving the article over time.

Listicles
You said listicles are not awards. I don't oppose, but why CL can used this kind of term but Kim Hyo-yeon can't not used it? Kinda double standard? Although those in Hyoyeon's listicles are the reliable one in DJ career, many articles based on that to rank a female DJ popular/reputation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Callmeur (talk • contribs) 09:48, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- They shouldn't have been included in CL's article either, and I've now removed them from there as well, with the same rationale. DragonFury (talk) 10:21, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
February 2024
Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! 166.199.98.7 (talk) 22:38, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

undoing my revisions
Is there any reason why you are changing scores of games? You don't put a lower score before a highter score. And per wikipedia rules you if two editors can't come to a consensus regarding an edit you must bring it discuss it before undoing someone else's work Mpdaly86900711 (talk) 14:15, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- The lower score in a loss is put first in every infobox, and every schedule table, on every NFL season article, why the reasoning that it be different when it's in a text?DragonFury (talk) 15:10, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- show me in an article where it says a team lost for example 10-20? You won't it will say the team lost 20-10 Mpdaly86900711 (talk) 15:11, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- either you don't make edits without first contacting the previous editor Mpdaly86900711 (talk) 15:12, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- and you also removed the score of a game from the 1999 Jaguars season. what was the reasoning behind that? Mpdaly86900711 (talk) 15:13, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- It's perfectly fine to make edits without contacting other editors first, everything on Wikipedia was added or edited by another editor, am I supposed to check with all of them first for every single edit? As for the 1999 season; the score doesn't fit the sentence, it just sits there like a dead duck, and any factual information it offers is already shown in the infobox right next to the text. Less is more.DragonFury (talk) 15:18, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
thank you
For the rude comments on my page. And for the constructive suggestions appreciate it smh Mpdaly86900711 (talk) 16:59, 17 February 2024 (UTC)

Are they the first all female S. Korean rock band to tour the world, USA in 2023 and Europe in early 2024? If so is this worth a mention? thanks 2A04:4A43:8D2F:F3AB:1190:92B1:F85E:EAD7 (talk) 12:12, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- I have no idea whether that's true, I suspect it's not, but either way it's the kind of thing you want to back up with proper sources and not just add nilly-willy.DragonFury (talk) 12:27, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
