Please do not tag categories for speedy deletion unless they have been emptied. Otherwise, we have red link categories which must be avoided according to WP:REDNO.

Also, I've been meaning to ask you, would you like me to stop posting CSD notices for C1 empty categories? Most of the editors who create a lot of categories have opted out of receiving CSD C1 notifications because of the high number of categories they create. They are less invested in a single category than an editor who has created an article or draft. Just let me know and I can "uncheck" the notification box. Liz ^{Read! Well, it's usually one of two reasons a) because there was a solitary article in the category and the article was deleted or b) because an editor is rearranging categories or their contents. I post User talk page notices when an editor empties a category "out of process" but it can be hard to explain when some of our editors who are most active in the category namespace do this regularly themselves. You've added a deletion notice to the wrong page

Hi there

You messaged me about the "Proposed deletion of Ernest McGillicuddy". I have no qualms about deleting this as it's now a blank page following my removal of the redirect to Reg McGillicuddy, who seems to have no link to Ernest, whoever that is. However, you've added the proposed deletion template to the Reg McGillicuddy talk page, which I presume is unintended. While you stated in your message that I can remove the proposed deletion notice, one thing I've learnt editing Wikipedia for 20 years now is that I don't remove deletion notices without ensuring the editor who added it knows beforehand.

Also, while your message to me is presumably a cut and paste, the reason you give me for Ernest McGillicuddy's proposed deletion ("Ernest" not mentioned in article previously redirected to Reg McGillicuddy) is what I commented when deleting the redirect and makes me think you have messaged the wrong person.

Let me know if I have this wrong.
