Please make the requisite chnages at the Hindi grammar page. Ie, use of proper ɑ instead of alpha, and tilde over the vowel for nasalization. I cannot do them myself, as I dont know the system.Cygnus_hansa 17:28, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
- Done, but see my comments on the grammar talk page about how the result is kind of ugly in a small font.
I apologise about contacting You in this way. I want to write a paper for a class about some irregularities in Nahuatl, and i saw in the discuission that You were workign on it. Did You publish anything or is there a way to contact You and ask You for help? thank You. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Under no name (talk • contribs) 13:41, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- I have a paper on documenting Nahuatl (and other languages) using computational linguistics, which appeared in the proceedings of Comp Ling and Intelligent Text Processing in 2005. There's not much there about Nahuatl itself, and I don't know the language--I only implemented a morphological parser for the Oapan dialect, using rules that a Dr. Jonathan Amith gave me. tseltal bilinguality
editover the years i've met a number of older tseltal women (in amatenango del valle) and tsotsil women (in san cristóbal de las casas) who didn't speak spanish, but only one tsotsil man who didn't speak spanish. i get the impression that this is accounted for by the fact that the men often have to leave their village to work for monolingual (spanish speaking) ladinos. to complicate the issue many older people are bilingual in tsotsil and tseltal, but most of those that i've met are also spanish speakers.
