Wikilinking
editHi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:
- dates
- years
- commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
- common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).
Thanks and my best wishes to you!

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. A page you started (James I. Ausman) has been reviewed!
editThanks for creating James I. Ausman, Neuralia!
Wikipedia editor Barney the barney barney just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:
notorious? really? wtf? You can't and shouldn't describe someone as that per WP:BLP but the rest of it seems OK (needs tidying).

editHello, I'm Dan653. I noticed that you recently removed all content from Draft:James I. Ausman, with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, I restored the page's content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Dan653 (talk) 01:00, 26 January 2014 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Jose F. Caro.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Jose F. Caro.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 16:23, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:James I. Ausman.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:James I. Ausman.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 15:19, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Talk:Surgical_neurology_international#Re Tone and Writing like Advert
editYou are invited to join the discussion at Talk:Surgical_neurology_international#Re Tone and Writing like Advert. Jguard18 Critique Me 01:25, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
The article Surgical neurology international has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable journal. Not indexed in any selective databases, no independent sources. Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Randykitty (talk) 05:03, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
Nomination of Surgical neurology international for deletion
editA discussion is taking place as to whether the article Surgical neurology international is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Surgical neurology international until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Randykitty (talk) 14:59, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
Assistance required
editDear Neuralia, Researching a proposal for a new entry for Surgical Neurology International, I found you had attempted to create an entry for it but it was rejected by several editors. I don't know exactly why they were so critical of the entry. SNI is a notable journal and I think you were correct in trying to establish a Wikipedia entry for it. I have obtained permission from one of the Wikipedia administrators to re-submit a new "draft" entry for SNI. I suspect I may need your help. I think you were too much of a gentleman, because if you had looked at the contributions of journals created by the principal editor who rejected your proposal, you would have found that most of his journal creations do not pass the standards that he demanded of your submission. Since you already have experience with this entry, I thought perhaps you could help me in the approval process on the talk pages. The administrator has been very nice and I think we may even get his support. But I also suspect that the trio that assailed you may return for another round, as I believe this is a turf battle. Feel free to come to my talk page to follow this development and render me the assistance I may need. If the struggle becomes intense, I'm prepared to demonstrate how most of the entries made by one of the aforementioned editors are faulty because of lack of "verifiable secondary sources," guilty of the same offenses you were accused of. If I can render you assistance in the future with an entry, let me know.LeBassRobespierre (talk) 19:54, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
Neuralia, all I ask is that you study both the SNI Draft page and its Talk Page and render your opinion, whatever it is, about the new entry for SNI. You have more experience than most on this specific entry. Specifically about Notability of this journal, abiding by guidelines, and fair treatment for all — Nothing more!

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Jose Esparza, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Jose esparza. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. Hi Neuralia, I noticed you created that "draft". There is a better way to do exercises -- every editor has a "sandbox", which you can find in a link at the top of the page. License tagging for File:Thomas Dodd playing the harp.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Thomas Dodd playing the harp.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:37, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Jan A. Nelson: notable?
editAfter reverting your addition of the redlinked Jan A. Nelson article to Fremont, Nebraska, I looked at your contribution history and found your draft of the article.
Unless there are stronger sources than the ones you've cited so far, I don't believe that Nelson meets Wikipedia's notability standards. The standards call for:
- Significant coverage in
- Reliable sources that are
- Independent of the subject.
None of the sources that I see in your references section appears to meet these three standards. We've got things like Microsoft and LinkedIn, which are not independent; like YouTube and Wordpress sources, which are neither reliable nor independent; and like an IBDB page and oldfriends.com, which don't provide significant coverage.
I don't want to discourage you from contributing to WP, but neither do I want to see you spend a lot of time and effort on an article that's at a high risk of being deleted. I haven't made a serious effort to find out whether Nelson actually meets notability standards; but if the article was posted and then nominated for deletion, and I couldn't find any sources stronger than those in the current references list, I'd have to !vote for deletion.
Could I suggest that you try to find sources that meet the notability guidelines before proceeding further with this draft? If you could find something like a reasonably long (more than a few paragraphs) profile in a technology magazine independent of Microsoft, or in an independent art journal, then it'd probably be worth continuing to work on this article. Otherwise, however, it might be better for you to spend your time and effort on a subject whose notability is less questionable.
I hope you don't think that I'm trying to dissuade you from contributing to the encyclopedia. The opposite is true: the amount of research that you've apparently put into this article suggests that you might well be a valuable contributor. For exactly that reason, I'd hate to see you suffer the disappointment of working hard on an article only to have it deleted for failure to meet notability standards. — Ammodramus (talk) 22:33, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
- Dear Ammodramus, thanks very much for your generous advice. Obviously I.ll have to rethink the whole issue. Best regards.

Speedy deletion nomination of Blame The Monkey
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello. A tag has been placed on Blame The Monkey requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. A page you started (Victor Wang (painter)) has been reviewed!
editThanks for creating Victor Wang (painter).
I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
I believe Wang passes Wikipedia:Notability (academics) due to being a professor at a university (WP:NACADEMIC). However this article's sources are either primary sources or sources of dubious reliability (WP:RELIABLE) such as minor art sites. If you could find one sold independent reliable source then that would benefit this article.

The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors. The person is known for originating a significant new concept, theory, or technique. The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the primary subject of an independent and notable work (for example, a book, film, or television series, but usually not a single episode of a television series) or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews. The person's work (or works) has: (a) become a significant monument, (b) been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) won significant critical attention, or (d) been represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums. It seems I forgot to mention that it is also necessary to reduce use of the subject's and company's name. he (or she or it or they or the firm) make good substitutes when there's no ambiguity. I fixed most of this and accepted.
I now expect you will check your other work for these points. Looking at your work on artists, remember that describing the style must be based on a published source. Try to avoid adjectives like "important" (etc.). The article should make this evident by its contents. Don't for example say "represented in the art collections of notable institutions like X Y and Z" but "represented in the art collections of X Y and Z""
It's great to have a non-COI person working in this area, but , considering the extent of COI editing in Wikipedia , you might want to add on article talk pages a statement that you do not have conflict of interest. (or, should it be the case, that you have a nonmonetary conflict of interest) It should stop people asking about it. DGG ( talk ) 17:15, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

editIt seems possible from the wording that some of this article may have been translated or copied from some external source, probably a non-English source;
- "Within a lustrum from her debut" is not a typical English phrasing or common English word in general context, and
- "she is found exhibiting" is normal in some languages, but in English it would normally be "she exhibited in" or "she had exhibited in"
Also in that article, Gallerysite turns out not to be a publication called Gallerysite but the site of the galery which was exhibiting her work--the various fields in cite web should be able to clarify it--and remember that for a commercial gallery this is not an independent site, its what the artist or her publicist or the gallery's publicist chooses to write in order to sell her work. Don't go by the way many articles on contemporary artists are written--most of them have extensive COI which will take the good volunteers in the field many years to cleanup. Theroadislong (talk) 15:58, 3 March 2022 (UTC)=Suggestions
editYou're doing excellent work, as I hope you realize. So, since I'm one of the admins most frequently reviewing scientific bios, I hope you won't mind if I offer further suggestions. They're just suggestions, aimed at having some consistency in style.
I'm making some adjustments--I'm in the middle on this article. What I'm trying to do is deemphasize he parts that are less important--memberships on committees don't really count for much--chairmanships do; being an editor in chief is noteworthy, but not other editorial positions. Peer-reviewed primary research articles count to show notability as a researcher, but not really reviews.In listing the most cited articles, give numbers, preferably from google scholar, because everyone has access to that. And, as a matter of style, don't repeat too much in the introductory paragraph.
When someone has an academic career followed by a management career or public service career, it's usually best to clear separate the two. There'salways a problem in articles on executives, or just what to give them credit for. It's not necessarily correct that they really have main responsibility for the developments that happen while they are in charge; it is sometimes best to say something like, While they were president of the company, it .... For pharmaceuticals,, when we say they led the devlopment of ...., it can be unclear just what is meant: did they come up with the concept, or did they just greenlight the staff's?
But you don't have to send them to draft any more. They're basically OK. You might want to recheck some of the earlier ones in view of what I've suggested. DGG ( talk ) 05:38, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Neuralia/sandbox9
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Neuralia/sandbox9. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Paula Caligiuri. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Paula Caligiuri. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Alpha Piscis Austrini (talk) 12:36, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Cultural agility, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Digitalization. DEFAULTSORT
editHallo, when you created A Fortress in Brooklyn (now moved to the shorter title), you included {{DEFAULTSORT:A Fortress in Brooklyn: Race, Real Estate, and the Making of Hasidic Williamsburg}}
. But the point of "DEFAULTSORT" is to specify the sorting order, and if you were looking for this book in an A-Z list I imagine that you would look under "F" not "A". I've fixed this, just thought it worth pointing out. There are two main uses for DEFAULTSORT - making sure that "Harry Potter" files under P not H (ie as "Potter, Harry"), and cases like this one where a title starts with The/An/A or foreign equivalents. Speedy deletion nomination of Jimmy Wright (disambiguation)
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jimmy Wright (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. PamD 07:46, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
The article Jimmy Wright (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Redundant to James Wright, to which Jimmy Wright has redirected since 2007. No need for this separate page.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PamD 08:21, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

editHello Neuralia. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Kimberly Eddleston, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Neuralia. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Neuralia|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. – Joe (talk) 09:20, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- Yes Dear Joe, you are absolutely mistaken on this impression of yours, although I recognize I may have made a mistake when judjing the merits of this particular article. Best wishes in your important role as a Wikipedia regulations watcher. ~~~~ Neuralia (talk) 15:29, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
