The article T. Russell Shields has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. Lead section of Linguistic relativity

edit

Hello, Sanpitch. You recently added a 'lead too long' maintenance tag to Linguistic relativity. The length and content of that lead section has been something of a sore spot in the past, as can be seen from Talk:Linguistic relativity#lead too long.

I'm not quite sure if your objection is just raw word-count, or if you find the section confusing or otherwise unhelpful. If you'd like to leave a note at the talk page, either in the section I mentioned or in a new section, I'm sure that would be most appreciated. Thanks, and happy editing. Hi. When you recently edited List of RadioWest Episodes, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Bob Bennett and Adam Davidson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Reverted you at Talk:Quadrature amplitude modulation

edit

It's not a good idea to respond to an ancient obsolete talk item high up on a page, with a statement that you're confused. So I reverted that. If you'd like to say something that we should consider about improving the article, then start a new talk section at the bottom. Thanks. Dicklyon (talk) 16:55, 18 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Then archive the talk items!! Don't revert my perfectly reasonable suggestion. I am not confused, it's the article which is making a perfectly simple thing confusing! Sanpitch (talk) 21:53, 18 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Chief Sanpitch in Bear River Massacre

edit

You changed a link in the Bear River Massacre article to point to the Chief Sanpitch article about a Ute chief. This is an interesting change because I had always considered, given the context given in the historical literature that mentioned Sanpitch in regards to the Bear River Massacre, that he was Shoshone... or at least the person involved in the federal indictment in 1862-3 under the name Sanpitch was a Shoshone chief.

Mind you, it may be one and the same person, or it could be two different people. Besides simply the common name, are you aware of any other historical records or any indication that this may be the same person or that a person named Sanpitch as a Ute chief either claimed or his descendents claimed that he had a connection to the Cache Valley Shoshone tribes? The geographical proximity certainly isn't too far off, but there certainly was a difference between the Utes and the Shoshone tribes and just seems a little odd to me. I'm not even suggesting your edit was done in error, but it did strike me as something that could use some additional information to confirm the person involved with this event in Cache Valley is in fact the same person who was a Ute chief. --Robert Horning (talk) 06:27, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Robert, It looks like they are two different people. A PDF at USU says that the Bear River Sanpitch lived after the death of the Sanpete County Sanpitch. I guess Sanpitch could be a common Ute name at that time. I removed the link I put in, the Bear River Massacre page is as it was previously. Note that Sanpitch now goes to a disambiguation page that mentions both Sanpitches. Sanpitch (talk) 15:50, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Ethereum

edit

Hi there, Sanpitch. Based on your recent comment on the Ethereum Talk page, I think you should go ahead and restore the material. There never was a consensus achieved for its removal. I restored it once, and initiated a WP:BRD discussion. D. Gerard then went and edit warred, took it out again. I chose not to edit war with him. But another editor may restore the improperly removed material, without the issue of edit warring surfacing. Just don't do it three times. I'll keep watching that page as well. Cheers. 1. You have declared a conflict of interest with regard to Ethereum here.
  2. You !voted in the merger discussion here, emotionally, and giving no rationale based on policy of guideline and making a personal attack. I removed your vote and gave you warning above.
  3. you !voted again here, again emotionally and without offering an argument based on policy/guidelines (but without the personal attack, so that was a step up).
  4. after having !voted, you closed the merger proposal here. This was not appropriate, and I reverted. There is no reason to close it yet, and having !voted, you should not be the one to close it. That was shocking; everybody here knows that you don't close a discussion you voted in.

If you cannot restrain yourself and work in Wikipedia in a civil manner according to content and behavior norms, the community will take action against you. Please stop editing disruptively. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 06:41, 1 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

About this. I am dead serious. That close was inappropriate. You are obviously conflicted. If you cannot restrain yourself we will need to seek a topic ban.
