Page curation
editThis is probably the pot calling the kettle black, nevertheless, when you add taggs using page curation, you should not add a tag that is already there. e.g. 1912 Oklahoma tornado outbreak. If you ask my opinion, I think it is very easy to do and the tool ought to be modified to prevent that sort of mistake. In the mean time I guess I had better ask you to take more care. ;). Op47 (talk) 20:56, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
- Please also take care not to add {{stub}} to an article which already has a specific stub tag, as you did here. It just wastes other editors' time. Thanks. PamD 21:48, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for your feedback on my article. Sorry my bad English, I'm Russian. --Lawrentia (talk) 00:26, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
Welcome
editIt would be usual for someone to welcome you. I note no one has, so I thought I would copy what was left on my page when I joined. I trust there arn't too many cut and paste errors.
I'm op47, and I noticed that you haven't been welcomed yet, so I thought I'd drop you a note. John Gallea
editHi! As I see, on 27 January you reviewed the article John Gallea created by User:Benjames2017 ([1]) and you did not notice any issues except "some typos". You even wrote to the author's talk page that it is a "good article" ([2]). What you didn't notice is that it is a recreation of the article "John Galea" that was deleted five times before ([3]), and the user who creates those articles is Galea himself. He is blocked indefinetely ([4]), but he uses sockpuppets to evade his block (see: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Johngalea24). So, the article needs to be speedy deleted on both WP:G4 and WP:G5 criteria. I believe you missed this, but I think that you need to be more careful when doing new pages patrol, as the patrol is the most important step in securing the integrity of Wikipedia. Vanjagenije (talk) 13:15, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
I did didn't notice a problem with the article . Was well written and the drama around the subject probably means that the subject needs taking another look at as it was sourced well.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invitation to the African Destubathon
editHi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
