Kant
editHi @Zyxwvoids,
I'm happy to see someone knowledgeable working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Kant. Your account came to my attention because your recent edits to to Immanuel Kant were flagged in my watchlist as "may have problems". Since they do not, I am guessing this is because you are both a new user and did not leave an edit description. It's always good to leave a description, even if it's just a few words.
Also, on Wikipedia, it is very important to WP:CITE reliable secondary sources to support any claims that might be disputed. Without a citation, anyone can undo your work pretty much at will, whereas the removal of cited content will almost always be questioned by other editors.
Note that Wikipedia's prioritization of secondary sources over primary sources is the opposite of normal academic work – which can be very exasperating, even once you're used to it – but citations to primary sources are liable to be flagged as WP:ORIGINALRESEARCH and removed.
Happy editing!
Cheers, Patrick J. Welsh (talk) 15:35, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
Please review the definition of minor edit and mark your edits appropriately
editHello Zyxwvoids: You marked this edit as minor but it certainly was not. Remember that WP:MINOR says that minor edits consist "solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of the content" and that you should not mark as minor "adding or removing content in an article" and "adding or removing references/citations" (among other actions), both of which you did in that edit. I reverted part of your edit, which is another indication that it wasn't minor. Thanks, Biogeographist (talk) 16:21, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification Biogeographist! I was unaware of the strictness of the minor edit specifications. Zyxwvoids (talk) 00:02, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
October 2024
editHello, I'm DVdm. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Infinity, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DVdm (talk) 08:48, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
