- Keep A warship was named after him which is a "significant award or honor and so passes WP:ANYBIO. Andrew🐉(talk) 18:55, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
- As has been explained on many other AfDs, that's not how "a significant award or honor" works. - The Bushranger One ping only 11:18, 27 January 2021 (UTC)

- Redirect to USS J. Douglas Blackwood (DE-219). Fails WP:SOLDIER (Surgeon awarded a Navy Cross. Having a ship named after him during WWII is not a "significant award or honor") and WP:GNG. No SIGCOV in multiple RS so not notable. Mztourist (talk)

- Merge to USS J. Douglas Blackwood (DE-219). I concur he doesn't meet NBIO/NSOLDIER but there is some mergeable content here (sadly there are next to no inline refs in the article, but we can probably AGF the content...). The ship can have a section about its non-notable namesake.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:42, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- Actually, there is an in line reference, which you apparently overlooked. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 13:12, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- Actually read User:Piotrus's argument. sadly there are next to no inline refs in the article, but we can probably AGF the content... Lettlerhello • contribs 16:04, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- Delete having a ship named after you in the conditions in which this naming were done is not a sign of notability.John Pack Lambert (talk) 17:32, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
- Redirect to USS J. Douglas Blackwood (DE-219), merging as necessary. - The Bushranger One ping only 11:18, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
