Fails WP:SOLDIER and I don't see anything else that would make him noteable Gbawden (talk) 09:15, 3 January 2018 (UTC)

- Comment - SOLDIER is irrelevant here. There question is whether he meets GNG as an author (books by Willink, leadership consultant, and podcaster. He does have some coverage (over 200 google-news true hits (raw count is 2150)) - however the nature of leadership gurus of this type is that they generate coverage as part of the business.Icewhiz (talk) 09:49, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. Jocko Willink was a Navy SEALS commander at the 2006 Battle of Ramadi, in charge of for example Michael Monsoor, and is a popular podcast host. It makes absolutely no sense to not have an article on this man. –Vami_IV✠ 15:54, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- Keep. Jocko Willink has some notability and I feel that he meets both notability guidelines in both SOLDIER and GNG as an author. That merits an article on WP. JaxisMaximus (talk) 06:00, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
- Keep - Subject meets WP:GNG. If subjects meet GNG, he can get a Wikipedia entry, irregardless if he meets WP:SOLDIER or not, even if he was a member of the armed forces. Google news reports 3,250 results. Here's some entries I found: http://www.businessinsider.com/new-years-resolutions-jocko-willink-2018-1 , http://www.businessinsider.com/former-navy-seal-jocko-willink-daily-routines-to-change-your-life-2017-11 , https://www.forbes.com/sites/danschawbel/2017/10/17/jocko-willink-the-relationship-between-discipline-and-freedom/#2b0dd3926df8 , and http://www.silive.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2017/10/navy_seal_turned_self-help_guru_to_visit_staten_island.html . All publications are notable and the articles are about him, himself and not simple quotes or mentions. This was only a quick review but its quite clear to me the subject is notable. The first edit in the history, by User:Tparameter, says "Jocko Willink is a repeat guest on Fox News segments related to terrorism, combat operations, etc." I don't know how true that is (don't watch the news) but it does add to his notability. - Keep Although he doesn't meet any of the possible SNGs, there is sufficient coverage to show WP:GNG is met and that is all that's necessary. Papaursa (talk) 00:52, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
