Contested Prod without comment and by the original author. Non-notable child boxer - clearly does not meet WP:NBOX but the rest is just hype. PRehse (talk) 16:22, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

- Delete for not meeting WP:NBOX; emphatically WP:TOOSOON. -The Gnome (talk) 17:58, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- Keep - Junior Olympic National Champion, Silver Gloves National Championship with coverage in the Chicago Tribune and The Herald gives enough validity to be included here at Wikipedia.ShoesssS Talk 12:02, 29 March 2018 (UTC)
- Keep - Well I see awards backed by citations from notable press. May be WP:TOOSOON applies but definitely not WP:NBOX. Blazing Sceptile (talk) 10:01, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

- User:PRehse, I respect your opinion. Correct me if I am wrong, according to point number 4 of WP:NBOX, the athlete must have fought with AIBA affiliated country. Well, according to Team USA website, they are affiliated. See here. And Awinongya won USA Boxing Junior Olympics arranged by Team USA. Hope it helps. - Not as age dependent.PRehse (talk) 10:50, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

- Delete Youth sporting events are almost always considered insufficient to show notability. The basic criteria at WP:NSPORT talks about competing at the highest level. There's no way winning a division for 9 year olds can be considered the highest level of boxing. Coverage is routine sports reporting and mainly at a local level. Papaursa (talk) 00:04, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- I think there's shouldn't be an age restriction. After all, National Junior Championship is for kids. And as far as the coverage is concerned, I don't think Chicago Tribune and Herald News can be counted as local media coverage. Blazing Sceptile (talk) 10:10, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Age group events, whether for the very young or very old, by their nature limit competition and have never been considered competing at the highest level in any sport I'm aware of. As far as the coverage goes, the kid is from Joliet, a suburb of Chicago, so how are the Joliet Herald-News and Chicago Tribune not local? Notice that the link shows the article is under "Local Sports"[1]. Papaursa (talk) 19:27, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
