Delete A posthumous award does not automatically elevate an unknown person into the stratosphere of notability. If all one can say about a person is "this was his job, he died, then was awarded something", then editors should use a bit of common sense that the Award section of WP:ANYBIO is a guideline, not a policy. Keep per the Keepers arguments. Yes, I believe one ultimate sacrifice is putting your own life at risk in order to help save others' lives. All over the world, plenty of examples are there – Purple Heart Award in the United States where a previously unknown soldier becomes well-known due to his services to his homeland. Keep He is, by most accounts, Pakistan's first notable coronavirus casualty and the coverage is extensive, therefore cannot be compared to non-notability. Delete per WP:BLP1E. 1) Reliable sources only cover Riaz in the context of the event of his death. 2) Riaz was a low profile individual before his death. 3) Riaz's death—while tragic—was not significant.

I guess an argument against this would be that being awarded the Nishan-e-Kashmir is a separate event than his death, but I disagree with this. Another would be that being awarded the Nishan-e-Kashmir posthumously revoked his status as a non-public figure, but I do not believe this meets the criteria for WP:LPI. userdude 08:47, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
