Cognate with Tatar эңгер (eñger), Kazakh іңір (ıñır), ымырт (ymyrt), Kyrgyz иңир (iŋir), иңирт (iŋirt), Southern Altai эҥир (eŋir, evening, twilight), Turkmen iňrik (evening twilight); Tuvan имир (imir), имиртиң (imirtiñ, twilight), Yakut им (im, twilight), Chuvash ӗнер (ĕner, yesterday), etc.
