The Four Shire Stone

  1. A stone monument at the point where four English counties once met; namely Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, and (until 1931) a detached part of Worcestershire, which is now in Gloucestershire. Five civil parishes (at one time seven) meet at the stone: Chastleton, Evenlode, Great Wolford, Little Compton and Moreton-in-Marsh (OS grid ref SP2332).
