Baba Rampuri article

The Baba Rampuri article is being used as part of a fraud and blackmail scheme. There are factually incorrect statements, references to fraud websites, and defaming material. This goes against the conditions of use of Wkipedia, and certainly against the spirit and intentions of wikipedia. It also cause harm to me personally to be so misrepresented. I'd be happy to discuss this with someone who may correct this injustice.

Multiple Pages on Subject at obscure level

United States presidential election in New Mexico, 1964 is just an example of not one, but many pages that seem to have been created recently by a user. It seems inappropriate for an article for Presidential Election in XXXX state for XXXX year election. All this information can be found on the Presidential Election for XXXX year page. It seems like creating articles just to create them, there's nothing being added that wouldn't be found on the main election page. I ask here because with so many of them created within such a short period of time and being a fairly new user I'm just not sure where to post this to. If there's some new consensus that this is how US Presidential Elections should be handled please let me know. Caffeyw (talk) 05:42, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

No, while it may not have any unique information at this point, there state US Pres election pages certainly do contain them for later elections. See United_States_presidential_election_in_New_Mexico,_2008 for example. If they are expanded so that the 1964 pages have the same sort of state specific information as the 2008 do, I would welcome them.Naraht (talk) 03:24, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

The Main Page isn't updated every day; it transcludes individual templates for FA, DYK, ITN, etc., so using the revision history doesn't give the desired result. ~HueSatLum 19:37, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

WikiArcheology

OK, this one is going to take a real WikiArcheologist...

Recently, at Wikipedia talk:Flow, the following argument was made:

"Of course when you poll a group of Wikipedians right now about how they want to deal with [X], they will say they want [Y]. That's how they currently deal with those things – just like if you'd asked Wikipedians in 2001 how they want to create internal links in Wikipedia, they would have said 'CamelCase!'"

My question is this; was there any real opposition to Wikipedia replacing CamelCase with square brackets? Is that discussion in our history, or was this before we have reliable records? --Guy Macon (talk) 09:33, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

As far as I can find, the earliest archived discussion on linking is at the MOS, and it is from 2005 (by which time brackets were already in use). This is not to say it doesn't still exist, but I can't find it anywhere that I think it may be. It's always worth asking an older Wikipedian, as they may remember it. I spent a couple of hours searching and didn't find anything either. This has my curiosity up; I think it would be fascinating to see how those early decisions were made and how well the predictions that happen during any policy discussion have held up. The earliest revision of Help:link says it was copied from M (meta), and the earliest version of M:Help:Link is from 2004, at which time internal links were already made by brackets. I think maybe User:Patrick, who created that page and is one of the earliest users, might very well be able to shed light (with Echo in place, he should now be informed of this discussion if he logs on, but note that he hasn't made any edits since last month).--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 21:11, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

You may want to get input from Manning Bartlett or BenKovitz. Manning's been around forever (I think he wrote the original version of MediaWiki) and is still active. Ben's account is somewhat newer, but he's been involved since the get-go (see our Ben Kovitz redirect), and while he's not super-active, he's still around somewhat and is active enough that he was at a meetup that I attended in June. I wasn't involved when double brackets were invented, but I do remember one fact about this. Larry Sanger expressed dislike of CamelCase at the taco-stand conversation because they led to clunky neologisms like MrAristotle. Your best source of info about this is probably Larry Sanger. Howdy all. Yes, I WAS there when we still had CamelCase. Everyone hated it and we were universally delighted when we got rid of it. @Nyttend - I didn't write the original version (or any version) of MediaWiki, that was Magnus Manske. (FWIW My biggest contribution was the Wikiproject concept.) But getting rid of Camel Case was one of the most requested features. Edit - On reflection, the following might just be the inane ramblings of a fuddled memory. One more thing to clear up - there were ALWAYS double square brackets for links, even during the UseModWiki/CamelCase era. Plus you always could pipe to alternate text. CamelCase was needed because the database couldn't handle spaces in a page name. So for Abraham Lincoln you needed to write [[AbrahamLincoln|Abraham Lincoln]]. Which is why we all hated it. I never knew that. I knew that the software automatically linked any word with two or more capitals (thus the debate over whether we have an article on AustraliA, AUstralia, etc.), so I just assumed that FreeLinks with brackets were first enabled as the CamelCase auto-linking was being phased out. I didn't know that it was even possible to have what we now call a piped link. And thanks for the correction vs. Magnus; I tend to get the two of you confused, unfortunately. Maybe we actually didn't have the double bracket links at the beginning... heck, it was a long time ago, and I'm an old fart now. Can't convert to global user account

So I'm trying to convert my account to a global user account. In my preferences, I click on "Manage your global user account", I put in my password, and it brings up the error:

The home wiki for this account (listed below) has a different password to the one you entered. Please enter the password for the home wiki.

Under that it says:

The password and email address set at this wiki will be used for your unified account.

I've never been on Japanese Wikipedia. Looking at the account with the same name as me there, it was created after me the last edit was a few years ago (my account has more recent activity). What should I do? DK (talk) 14:36, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

The right to a global account isn't based on age but number of edits. The Japanese account currently has around 20 more edits than you. If you make around 20 further edits then you should get the right. All edits at en.wikipedia.org count. PrimeHunter (talk) 17:56, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Biograph page

Hello,

I am and author and creating a biography in the Sandbox. I have not even started on my literary works yet, so am not ready to put the file into Wikipedia.

I have many professional papers etc., and when I added a URL link [and I did follow the proper format] I couldn't get the links to work. Is it because they are in the Sandbox? I would get an error re-credential (N^$% logon box. Can URLs be added in the Sandbox article.

I suggest that before you proceed any further, you read the Wikipedia notability guidelines - in particular WP:AUTHOR. I see nothing in your article so far to indicate that you would meet the guidelines, and unless you do, a biography on you would not be accepted. Note that we need evidence from third party published reliable sources to indicate the level of notability required. Were you to meet the guidelines, the article would in any case need substantial rewriting - it reads more like a resume than an encyclopaedia biography. I would also recommend reading Wikipedia:Autobiography - we strongly discourage autobiographical articles, and generally advise that if people are of sufficient notability to merit a Wikipedia article, it is best left to others to write. Dear Mr. Grump, My understanding of the sandbox was that it was "play/practice" area and I read nothing about sandbox files that had to remain permanent and uploaded. I was also of the understanding that the sandbox areas were not accessible to anyone outside of my account. My intention was to prepare something for when I die. I have already had a biography written by a professional in a university and it is fine except for the fact it is filled with minutia errors.

So my intend was to create a sandbox so the details are available for my children/next biographer to work with and that I approve of when I'm dead, and if at that time there is a need to create a biography, they don't have to look up and organize data or learn Wikipeadia formats. I have NO intention of posting/uploading my biography while I am alive. I didn't know it was a requirement to send sandbox files as live files. I assumed it would take me a couple of years considering I have very little time to devote to this, to organize pics I like etc.

Wikipedia is an online encyclopaedia. It is not a free webhosting service. We do not provide private workspace - and nor is there any guarantee that material in a sandbox will remain undeleted. The question of "how to" and "can it be done" is inseparable from the question about being accepted into Wikipedia, as Andy's answers show. BTW, you're not actually working in the Sandbox, which is a public test area frequently overwritten, but in a user sandbox, which is a place mainly for working on content intended for publication. Your user sandbox content is visible to everyone (I can see it) and subject to all the usual rules governing inclusion and deletion. Any pictures you add to it will likewise be public, because they must first be uploaded under a suitable licence permitting public reuse, which may not be what you want to do with your pictures. I concur with Andy's appraisal of your sandbox content and his advice to copy it elsewhere if you want to keep it. If it sits there for a while it may well be deleted as a WP:STALEDRAFT, even if it is not nominated for deletion on other grounds. Preparing something "for when you die" is not really feasible at Wikipedia, where death does not confer notability and where the subject of an article has no right of approval over the content. - Karenjc 15:11, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

changes to serena williams page

Last time I checked serena williams page; I read " arguably the greatest female player of all time. Before that was " one of the greatest tennis players of all time". Meanwhile she just won the Rogers open and still winning tournaments- and those lines have been removed. I understand that it's fine to quote experts in the field of tennis as well as other reliable sources, and I don't know that you were referring directly to the following statement from the Federer article, but since you used the Federer article as an example, I'm curious why an unjustified, uncited opinion statement about Federer "being one of the best volleyers in the game today" would be acceptable at Wikipedia? Hi Cyphoidbomb. I was referring to "Many commentators and former and current players regard Federer as the greatest tennis player of all time," which has a myriad of sources. As for volleying, you're right, it should have a source. There are a couple of other sources that mention his volleying but nothing that outright confirms the sentence you're referring to. @Cyphoidbomb: The Ali article is a different case. Per WP:LEADCITE, we don't have to cite statements in the opening paragraph if they're cited in the body. The "Legacy" section has enough cites to support "generally considered among the greatest heavyweights". All a load of rubbish! The greatest tennis player of all time is Esther Vergeer. Unbeaten in 470 matches over 10 years, she faced matchpoint only once and lost only 18 sets during the entire winning streak. Among her wins are 42 Grand Slam titles and her entire career record is 700 wins and 25 losses. Next to Vergeer, Williams, Federer (and anyone else you'd care to mention) are merely wannabes. WP:DEFINING

Please see my post at WP:DEFINING which presents a serious complaint about the creation and attempted use of alleged guidelines that are completely unworkable and defy all common sense. There are too many of these already but this one is the last straw as far as I'm concerned. I'm afraid Wikipedia is losing its way and is being taken over by people with pedantic, bureaucratic mindsets who have no interest whatsoever in providing information or useful search/navigation facilities for the user. Mr Wales needs to be made aware of this if he is not already. We in the cricket project have had more than our fair share of problems with the contentious WP:CFD "process" and we now have a person trying to use this ludicrous "definingness" nonsense, based on a non-existent word, to have some of our categories deleted. Please see the relevant discussion at CfD re English cricketers which itself refers to an ongoing discussion at WT:CRIC. When is some action going to be taken to put a stop to all these pointless, unworkable rules and processes that do do nothing to help the site and alienate good editors? Sandbox in personal toolbar area.

You don't need that gadget to have a sandbox; it just gives you quick access to it. If you have the gadget, you should see a link that says "Sandbox" in the top right corner of any page, between Talk and Preferences. You could remove the background using an application such as Photoshop, by selecting (with the magic wand tool) the white area, and deleting it through to a transparent background. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a database. As to whether or not a specific actor is notable enough to have an article about them here, the length of their career isn't important - what matters is the amount of significant coverage they have had in independent reliable sources. User-generated content like IMDb doesn't count, nor do Facebook and Twitter and the like. The criteria for establishing actors' notability are set out at WP:NACTOR. - Karenjc 19:17, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

Teton Valley Article

To Whom It May Concern:

I just read your article on Teton Valley, Idaho, and I think you may have some things confused. In the wildlife section it says: Teton Valley is the home of mammals including the bald eagle, black bears, cougars, wolverines, and grizzly bears. The region hosts the largest herds of elk in North America and is one of the few remaining areas in the lower 48 states where the grizzly bear still roams in significant numbers, and is home to the largest free-ranging herd of bison in the lower 48 states.

First bald eagles are not mammals, second it doesn't host the largest herds of elk, or have the largest free ranging herd of bison. I believe the elk and bison herd information would be better associated with Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the national parks that are in Wyoming and Montana. I grew up in Victor, Idaho and we didn't have bison running around, although we did have elk herds, I don't think they would be considered the largest.

Paranoia Doesn't Help

What is UP with the App/Mobile Version of Wikipedia periodically LOSING MY PASSWORD anf then being incapable of allowing me to recover or reset it?

This is apparently akin to the "new user-unfriendly atmosphere" designed to discourage contributors like me having a role here. Pathetic.

I cannot create a page because I'm not using a Desktop device... and I cannot recover/reset my Wikipedia password because I'm using the Android app?

There are technical challenges to overcome with creating a mobile app, so having anything at all is a blessing. Take into account that Wikipedia employ a tiny staff, and these have to maintain the databases, websites, press and public relations, all the users, content disputes, and the mobile applications for all the different platforms. Basically, be thankful for what you have, and know that more functionality may become available in the future. I don't think there is an easy way to retrieve the number of reverts you made under that account. Rescuing information and sources from a page that may be deleted

Dear editors: This article: Himanta Biswa Sarma is short on reliable sources. On the other hand, this one: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Himanta Biswa Sarma, has some, and also is more extensive. Unfortunately, it's an old Afc draft about the same subject. Before the old draft is deleted, it seems sensible to transfer any useful parts of the second article to the first. The instructions on merging articles assume that both articles have different titles, and that one can be made a redirect containing the original edits in its history for copyright reasons. Would it be acceptable to move the draft to "Himanta Biswa Sarma (politician)", then move the useful content to "Himanta Biswa Sarma" and make the other article into a redirect? Even though it has over four million articles, Wikipedia is far from complete, but getting better all the time. If there are published sources such as news reports, military magazine articles or books in which authors have written about this unit, then some information about it can be added to the encyclopedia, along with references to these sources. It's not so much that they're not independent, as that they're not verifiable: if a reader in a month or a year or ten years reads the Wikipedia article, and wants to verify that it is correct, there will be no way to do so. Need help in image replacement

Hi Guys,

There is an article over here on a firm called 'Ashghal' here is the link to that article Ashghal

I cannot replace the image since I do not have a confirmed account and in order to have that I need to have done at least 10 edits.

referencing problems

Wrong Information

Dear Wiki,

I'm one of Wiki's fan over the year, especially when I try to find something new, Wiki is always my number 1 reference.

Lately, something is bothering me, because I see my Wiki's company page is filled with wrong information. Every time, I try to change and give right information, someone is changing again in a brief of time. This happens over and over again.

I know the information is wrong, since I work there for quite a long time, and I have company identity and documents to prove it. And not in my attention to make that page as an promotional page. It is just weird to see wrong information about your company and it will mislead everyone that read it.

Is there any way that I can give the right information and protect it, others than change it over and over again ?

So far your only two edits with this account are here at the Help Desk, so I can't tell what page you're referring to. You don't mention whether you provided reliable sources for the facts that you updated/changed. Without references and sources, we can't just take your word for it. It would be best if you posted to the article's talk page (see the top left of the article page where it says "talk") with not only your updated info but also where someone might verify that information. How to tackle a conflict of interest?

A new user with the very unsubtle name NEC Australia has just edited the article Ultranet, in good faith but with obvious commercial intent. I'm not au fait enough with our templates and stuff to know how to formally but politely tell this user they need to change their approach.

You seem to be trying to use your user page as an article. The purpose of a user page can be seen at Wikipedia:User pages, and in particular the section WP:FAKEARTICLE. One thing which you will need to address is the difference between external links and references. We do not include external links within the body of the article. I'm sorry, Liz, but you are under a misapprehension. You do not manage any page in Wikipedia (and nor does anybody else). As somebody with a conflict of interest you are a less appropriate person to edit that article than most user, not a more appropriate one. As to your specific question, warnings like that are almost completely manual: a human editor added them, and a human editor can remove them. This could be you, if you are sure the issues have been addressed; but because of your conflict of interest, it would be a bad idea for you to do so. What is needed is solid, substantial discussion of the subject in reliable sources (such as newspapers or books independent of the subject), and you could contribute powerfully to the article by identifying these, and posting them on the article's talk page. --ColinFine (talk) 19:15, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

I assume that you are referring to the article John Grant (English footballer)? That is an article in an encyclopedia, not a profile on a social media site, and you need to understand that, even if you are the subject of the article, you do not own the article, and in fact you need to be very careful as to whether you ought to be editing it at all. You need to read the guidance on conflict of interest. Rescuing article history of a page that's being reused

Dear editors: This article: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jeff Halevy (2) has the edit history for this article Jeff Halevy (Personal trainer), which was cut and pasted by a different user to mainspace and then improved. For copyright reasons, the edit histories of the two pages should be merged. However, the user has made one edit changing the first page into an article about a Michael Jackson recording. This really should have been done in a sandbox or user page. Is there any way to create such a page and move the one Michael Jackson edit there, while retaining the name of the editor with it, so that the rest of the page history can me merged with the mainspace article? —Anne Delong (talk) 17:54, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

There isn't enough of the Michael Jackson edit to be worth saving, so that should just be reverted as irrelevant to the page that it's on. Is it copyright to copy word by word text from a source such as a book?

First of all, copyright is the right of the author to restrict copying by others. If someone who does not have permission from the author copies in a way that violates the copyright law, that is a copyright violation.

An author can only restrict copying, not independent recreation. So if someone writes "Elvis was known as the King" without knowing someone wrote that first in a book, it is not a copyright violation.

Then there is fair use. It is allowed to copy a small amount of text from a book if you indicate it is a quote and give an inline citation to the book it is copied from.

You can use as much information as you want from a book if you paraphrase it in your own words. Inevitably a few words in the paraphrased version will be in the same order as in the original; there is no hard-and-fast rule about how many words in a row can be the same as in the original before it would be a copyright violation. If your paraphrase were two short sentences, one of which was "Elvis was known as the King", and you didn't put it in quotation marks, that would be considered plagiarism. If your paraphrase were five paragraphs long, and the overall impression was it was substantially different from the book, having six words in a row that match the book might be OK, especially if the same sentence appears in several other books you consulted. (edit conflict)::In general, as I understand it, you most definitely may not copy into Wikipedia text (or images or sounds) from any source that is in copyright. That would constitute a copyright violation, which since it puts Wikipedia on the wrong side of the law is severely prohibited. In some circumstances it may be OK to quote, with quotation marks and full identification of the source, limited amounts of text from copyright sources. Older works such as books whose copyright has expired can be copied freely; but to be honest it isn't often useful to do so. If you think you've come across copying of the kind you mention, you should tell someone about it. If you need more advice, please ask. I believe copyright in Germany is life +70 years - at least that is what our article here says. I can't immediately find a date of death for Liselotte Orgel-Köhne, but she published a book in 1980. She could well be still alive. I don't myself think you have much chance of constructing a fair-use rationale for that image, but I'm no expert. Unless someone from the DHM took the picture or the photographer gave copyright to DHM, the claim of copyright that DHM makes is unenforceable — it appears that they simply scanned it. That's completely different from the photographer's rights, which are definitely enforceable, and it's definitely still under copyright in any life+70 country. Werieth gave you a link to WP:NFCC#8 which says "Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding." Your use of this photo may be justified because it doesn't merely show that children were indoctrinated in schools but shows specifically how they were taught to classify people by race. A photo with NO copyright problems has been removed; please help

This inquiry involves the page Nicholas Johnson. The photo of myself which I uploaded there yesterday [August 18]: file:Nicholas Johnson.jpg -- has now been removed.

I am the Nicholas Johnson in the photo, and the Nicholas Johnson to whom the Wikipedia page refers.

This photo does not, and could not, have any associated copyright problems.

I am Nicholas Johnson. The photo is of me. I possess the picture. It was not taken from any publication or online source. Thus, as I explained on the forms yesterday, any necessary "copyright" (or "license") for this purpose belongs to me. It was taken by a family member (my sister-in-law) with the understanding I could use it for any purpose I wished. It was not the work of a professional photographer nor done in a photo studio; it was not done by a photographer for a newspaper or magazine. She took the picture with the intention of giving it to me, which she did; she sent it to me; she had no other purpose, nor use for it. She knows I have it on my hard drive. She knows, and approves, that it is the picture I use on my blog, http://FromDC2Iowa.blogspot.com, on the back covers of my books (see, e.g., http://www.amazon.com/Nicholas-Johnson/e/B00B138MYQ), and on a Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/NicholasJohnsonIowa?ref=hl Indeed, she is flattered I have chosen to use it for these purposes. I would like to use it on my Wikipedia page as well -- and as of yesterday had done so, until it was removed.

I really don't know what more I can provide to convince you there is no copyright problem here. Surely there are other instances in which those who have Wikipedia entries about them have used family photos on their pages. Although I would acknowledge that it is hard to know how to provide this kind of information about a source given the options on your forms.

So why is this coming up now? Because I noticed yesterday that when one searches Google for "Nicholas Johnson," not only are the first five or so hits sites of mine, but Google now provides, in the right hand column, additional information about me, along with a picture, however, of someone who is NOT me. When I saw that most of that information came from Wikipedia, I went to my Wikipedia page and discovered that it had no photo -- a logical explanation for why Google, relying on the Wikipedia page, might have ended up with a picture of some other Nicholas Johnson. Well, I thought, I should upload to Wikipedia an actual picture of me so that so long as Google is inserting that information on the search page they would at least know what picture to use.

So that's the story of the photo, why it does not involve any violation of Wikipedia's standards, and why it came to be uploaded.

Please let me know how we can proceed to get it uploaded once again -- without, hopefully, going through the same process I did yesterday and that is unlikely to be any more successful if I do the same thing over again.

Your photo was deleted as a copyright violation, either in error (Wikipedia is run by volunteers) or because you did not give enough information when you uploaded it, so that it had the appearance of being in violation of copyright. Uploading a photograph

I have created an entry for a writer, and she sent me her photo to upload. This photo is also available publicly on her website. I uploaded it by loading first on Wikipedia commons . After a couple of months, the photo disappeared. I assume it was removed due to copyright? I uploaded it again, this time not thru Wikipedia commons, and now I only see the name of the file but no photo! (its for an entry shanta acharya)-Please can someone help as I don't have the time and expertise to be trying to sort this out. You hadn't changed the article to call up the file name of the newly uploaded photo; it was still calling up the old file name. I've changed that for you. You do, however, mention copyright, and I fear that your new photo may disappear, as you have claimed that it is public domain but given no justification for that claim, and you say it's from the author's website, which says: "... Except as noted above, no part of this website is to be reproduced, stored in any sort of retrieval system or transmitted in any form or by any means, without the prior written permission of the relevant copyright holder." - David Biddulph (talk) 22:57, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

and what David didn't say is that the copyright holder telling you that you have permission to upload it on Wikipedia is not enough in two ways: first, we have no way of knowing who you are and what she has said to you; and second, permission to use on Wikipedia is not enough. When you think that the draft is fit to be submitted for review, you can put {{subst:submit}} at the top of the article, and then someone will probably move it first to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/International clinics in Beijing, & then (if acceptable) to International clinics in Beijing. Note that we use sentence case, not title case, so it would be International clinics in Beijing, not International Clinics in Beijing. The same applies to section headings, so (for example) you should change "Prominent International Clinics and Hospitals in Beijing" to "Prominent international clinics and hospitals in Beijing"; this is covered in the WP:Manual of Style. Another point which you ought to address is that your references are currently bare urls, or even incomplete urls such as www.imcclinics.com; you ought to expand them with additional information, the easiest way being the use of {{cite web}}, perhaps through the referencing toolbar, see Help:Introduction to referencing/3. - David Biddulph (talk) 07:30, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Image correction on the article

I like to point out something about the logo on Ashghal's info box- Ashghal There has been an error on the image which is currently used. City State link question

Which is correct to use [[Pierre, South Dakota|Pierre]], [[South Dakota]] or [[Pierre, South Dakota]] or is the answer that either is appropriate, just don't change it. The closest I can find is WP:SPECIFICLINK, but even that doesn't seem to quite align.Naraht (talk) 14:35, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

I personally don't like to see the city and state split as two links. One reason is that Pierre, South Dakota, looks like a single link that can be clicked anywhere to go to the city, but that's not true. A second reason is that this wikitext is less than clear to a new editor. Missing article history?

Dear editors: I received on my talk page a thank you for creating this article: Palmetto Education Association. However, it is not an article that I wrote. I looked at the history, and the first edit is me moving the article from another user's sandbox into the Afc so that it could be reviewed. I am sure that I used the standard move method, since the default text is in the edit summary. What could have happened to the older history of the page, showing the original creation by the original user? You moved the author's sandbox to AFC where it was later moved to become American Teachers Association. The author then reused the sandbox (the opening item of the history being your page move) to create Palmetto Education Association. Dear editors: I am creating an article about a geological feature, and my husband has taken two photos which he has agreed to donate to Wikimedia Commons to be included in the article. He doesn't have a Wikipedia account. Can I upload them myself and include the fact that the photographer has agreed to donate the photos? Rock Paper Photo Edit

Hello, I work for Rock Paper Photo: Fine Art Photography. All I am doing is going to the wiki pages of our photographers and adding our site to their page. Apparently, because I am doing this to numerous pages in "rapid succession" it is considered spamming. I'm not trying to spam, I'm just trying to make clean edits. Is there a way for me to do this without getting "blacklisted?"

Footnotes

Editors:

I can't seem to get the footnotes to come out right despite trying my best to follow the directions. Instead of each footnote appearing correctly, they all referenced the source in the first footnote and completely left out the content that was supposed to appear in the footnotes. I have tried to fix but cannot. The footnotes in the text looks correct but when I press preview it all comes out wrong. Your problem was that you had {{reflist}} tags scattered like confetti throughout your draft. {{reflist}} should occur once, and that in the ==References== section near the end of the article. Help to avoid deletion: Articles for Creation space

Hi,

I received a message stating "Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/[my article], a page you created has not been edited in at least 180 days."

My article has been in the articlespace for some time. Is my article (which is about a magazine that's currently in circulation) in danger of being deleted? Or does it just need to be removed from Articles for Creation space? I'm not clear on my next step. Do I need to edit or add to the magazine's Wiki page? I want to ensure that the Wiki article that I wrote stays on Wikipedia.

Chemophobia page

Hello,

A page called "Chemophobia" has been put up there but a communications firm representing the chemicL Industry. it is a thinly veiled attack on science and scientists documenting health impacts from chemicals. The author "Grumpy Andy" works for a media firm which has been hired by the chemical industry and has just "reported" me to yo folks. What you can do is comply with Wikipedia policy, which requires you to discuss contested edits, rather than edit-war. And for the record, I do not work for the 'chemical industry' - though I don't expect for one minute that you will believe this, since you are evidently batshit crazy.
