Does it say "A person who practices social work with a Bachelor's, [[Master of Social Work|Master's]] (MSW), and/or a Doctorate degree in Social Work is called a social worker."? Try dictionary.com: ''Social work: noun 1. organized work directed toward the betterment of social conditions in the community, as by seeking to improve the condition of the poor, to promote the welfare of children, etc.'' No mention of degree. If you do social work, whether or not you have a degree, you are a social worker. It might be best to have one, but it is not required to be a "social worker". : I understand your confusion. This is one of the misguided notion about social work. The content of this articles relies on Professional Social Work, and requirements are mentioned in every countries specific associations. Alms giving was the origin form of Social Work in U.K and India, this can be considered as social work and definition fits, but now it is considered as social service and not social work. |

answer for your inquiries
Dear Jim
I well received your message. I think the function of Wiki is to spread and share right knowledge worldwide. I think the part of controversy is not objective. I knew a case of lawsuit is true. however the contents( i mean written sentences) is NOT objective because the references are from article. As you know, articles always include personal opinion. i truly agree there are FACT too. but i would like to say, the reference is part of article and some parts are not objective because it is personal thought.
secondly, main part of Pepero page is covered by Controversy. what is the important factor of Wiki page? main contents(explanation, sales volume, # of countries etc) is more important than extra one(lawsuit etc)
and i am preparing for main contents parts now and i will update in a day.
that's the reason why i edit the Controversy part firstly.
i hope this message help you understand what i intend.
best regard,

Hindu Deities
SO why did you delete my changes Jim? most of the translations and concepts surrounding the subject matter were thoroughly wrong. Even the sources of the definitions and subjects were from other outdated articles which were already biased against the Hindu culture. Why not just cite the Hindu literature for this article instead 19th century western interpretations?

Mispresentation of the English Democrats Party
(Exoniani (talk) 19:38, 8 February 2016 (UTC)) Hello Jim1138,
The brief summary I gave explained the changes I made earlier.
Political opponents presume to portray the English Democrats incorrectly as "far right", citing spurious authorities ie the published opinions of others! The position of the English Democrats Party can be found in its online manifesto which I assert is the valid authority.
I should be glad if you would reinstate the changes I made.
I should point out that these are the first changes I have attempted to improve Wikipedia's fairness and accuracy, and I am not familiar with the processes involved in particular this "talk page" facility.

If you look at the Wikipedia page for Adrian Mole it gives the correct title in the first line. It's the title that's wrong. I couldn't be bothered to get into changing that because I didn't know what the ramifications might be.
I would have put in another correction on the Ian Dury page but I didn't know how I would authenticate it. The article says "Sex & Drugs & Rock 'n Roll" was left off the album "New Boots & Panties". However, on my vinyl copy, it's there - it's just not listed on the label (presumably to get past the BBC censors).

Accessdate of refs - Reply
Hi there JIM, how are you (we talked once or twice in the ten years I have been here, just can't remember when)?
If you mean my summary in Raul Meireles, that is not what I meant, I did not say that the accessdate was the date of the written source (that is the field date, if I'm not mistaken), I mentioned that the accessdate was the date of its retrieval from the internet to WP.
However, if you are sure that what the accessdate means is the date when content was verified, that's surely a help. I am very picky and stupidly perfectionist when it comes to editing, to I wasted (correct verb) three hours looking for those accessdates :) Won't happen again.
Cheers also, from Portugal --84.90.219.128 (talk) 17:24, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

After the 2014 UEFA Europa League Final, and feeling that his team S.L. Benfica had been (in his words) robbed, he proceeded to vandalize several articles (for example changing name of Michel Platini to "Mafia"). I spotted that, reported, and he took offense ("charming" conversation took place for example here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:188.81.115.107). And I suppose he is still around spewing hate to all things FC Porto and Sporting Clube de Portugal (H-A-T-E my friend, nothing less), but as long as he leaves me the fudge alone, I could not care less.
Keep up the good work yourself --84.90.219.128 (talk) 21:18, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

You say that the source I referenced - which factually states that invading Middle Eastern and African people are what is driving the rapid increase of rapes in Europe (especially Sweden and Germany) - is somehow invalid. Why don't you tell that to the hundreds of people who have references directing the readers to people's personal blogs or to websites where the supposedly linked article doesn't even exist.
I referenced a reputable New York City based think tank that is currently overseen by former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton. How DARE you remove my post and threaten to block me from editing because I addressed the fact that the vast majority of rapes taking place in Europe currently are interracial rapes in which European women are the victims and non-European "migrants" are the aggressors. Don't EVER undo my edit in the Sweden section of the Wikipedia article "Rape Statistics" again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jtlbs90 (talk • contribs) 08:41, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Why i cant change the wrong data that many people post¿? I have the sources. War of Jenkins was a Spanish Victory, https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guerra_del_Asiento About battle of Cartagena de Indias, http://www.todoababor.es/articulos/art_2.htm Testigo presencial de los hechos escribió el librito : 'True Account of Admiral Vernon's conduit of Cartagena'.
"By honest count we lost 18,000 men dead, and according to a Spanish soldier we captured, they lost at most 200. Admiral One Leg with his excellet leadership and fire killed 9,000 of our men, General Fever killed a like number. When I last saw the harbor of Cartagena, its surface was gray with the rotting bodies of our men, who died so rapidly that we could not bury them. The poor, weak farmers from our North American colonies died four men in five."

I noticed that you had a question about edits to the article Nicaraguan Indigenous Organizations, as noted on the article's Talk page. This article was being created and edited as a student assignment by the individual who created the article in the first place. I do agree that there should be comments on edits, but I think you'll see from the edit history of that article that all of the changes were being made by the same editor. - @Shauno10: No, there is no need to do this move. A for Andomeda/ The Andromeda Breakthrough
Dear Jim
Thanks for replying so promptly. I have looked at the section you cited and I do not consider that my blog contravenes it in any way. It is not set up to promote any personal project, but to share knowledge of science fiction series and books which I am interested in and have some knowledge of. It is certainly not set up for self-promotion or for personal gain, unlike the link to Action TV on A for Andromeda which seems to be a commercial trader - Star Trader. I believe the posts on my blog will add to these pages on Wikipedia and not detract.
Therefore I would like the links reinstated. If you cannot agree to this, please tell howIi can appeal against this removal.
kind regards
Michael

Celeste Buckingham
Jim,
there is no conflict of interest. I give you an example. because the title of the books are the same, the writer assumes that the book is written based on the other and writes a few lines on it. Also, he has given false information about the life history of the Buckinghams. a good encyclopedia should have the correct data. i don't know who the person is who has written these things and where he got the information, but most of the information come from hear-say. he is quoting trashy magazines. those cannot possibly be good sources of information for a solid encyclopedia. We sincerely want to clean up the mess. Even the sentences are badly formulated and hard to understand. there is also a warning on the page with three error messages about the page being problematic. I understand cyber ethic. Believe me, I am not a vandalizer, I am trying to clean up this page. it has become very trashy because someone seemed to have been either bored or over zealous to write but the information is not only incorrect but false, badly written and misleading. I am sure you and I have the same goal, to have a more reliable and useful source. In fact, the page as it is, is vandalized and I sincerely hope that we can clean it up.
appreciate your cooperation. thank you,SilviaNikoletti (talk) 10:06, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

Re: February 2016
@Jim1138: Hello there! I see you have left a reminder on my talk page. I was reverting a troll who has been adding bad information recently; I usually write an edit summary, but after like 3-4 times of reverting the same guy, it gets kind of redundant. (Because of the circumstances, may I please remove the reminder?)
Thanks! --Andymii (talk) 22:17, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Andymii: It's your talk page. Jim1138 (talk) 22:24, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Andymii: As I said, it it your talk page. See wp:user pages, esp. wp:user pages#Removal of comments, notices, and warnings. Also, please read the top of one's talk page before leaving a message? Jim1138 (talk) 22:29, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
Thank you. Sorry for not pinging you, by the way. --Andymii (talk) 22:36, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Andymii: BTW: The warning was valid. You removed content w/o an edit summary. The request at the top of this page was for you to reply on your page and ping me. BTW: Pinging is not necessary on my page as it is automatic. See wp:ping Jim1138 (talk) 22:41, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

- Hi, there was NO sockpuppetry or any attempt to deceive, Sir. Over 70-80% of my total edits on WP have been IP edits. 47.17.27.189 (talk) 03:35, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
Rebuttal to edits on We Were SoldiersTroySchulz (talk) 00:54, 27 February 2016 (UTC)TroySchulz
Recently you undid the edits I performed on We Were Soldiers and marked them as 'vandalism.' I don't quite see your logic. The Joseph Kilna MacKenzie credit, its irregular placement, and its lack of a proper link, well, I was just trying to tidy the page up. Hope you at least understand.TroySchulz (talk) 00:54, 27 February 2016 (UTC)TroySchulz
Modifications to the page for On time Performance
Ok Jim
I have been planning for some time to make a large number of edits and upgrades to wiki pages on topics concerning transport. I have only just started, and things are going well. I still have a lot to learn, but I am hoping I will reach a reasonable level of editing skill soon. I understand at this stage you guys have no reason to trust me, but you should, and I know my stuff. I have written a book on rail transport planning, and my job has me deeply involved with transport, and I know a lot. In some cases I won't be able to find complete citations for what I know to be true, but I will do my best.
As regards the deletion of the stuff I added this morning, it was a work in progress and I will basically need to retype it all. There was nothing wrong with what I had written. I needed to take my wife down to see a property for an auction this morning, and but the time I had gotten back only this afternoon the entire thing had been deleted. That's not a lot of time. Also, adding citations is not a quick process, and it takes days really to do, so if you delete anything added after a couple of hours there won't be anything there at all.
I make the point many of the articles on wikipedia for transport planning are very low quality, full of obvious mistakes and things that are patently absurd. Some are little more than stub articles. If I go through and clean up all these pages it will take time, but it is a worthwhile cause and I'mm happy to contribute. But for now if you could trust me enough to allow me a few days before deleting my additions, especially as referencing is so time consuming.
I acknowledge that people makes crazy changes to wikipedia all the time, and without some control the whole thing would be a mess. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.1.219.58 (talk) 05:11, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
Editing
It's ok, I'll do it again. Yea I prefer to retain my privacy for now.
I guess the morale of the story is that there is no such thing as too much referencing.
I'm planning on making quite a few changes, so if I make any mistakes please don't hesitate to tell me (not that I think you'll have a problem with that.) I'm planning on cycling through a whole lot of topics on rail transport, such as headways and tilt trains. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.1.219.58 (talk) 07:40, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
Advice re continuing disruptive edits
Hi Jim, yesterday you reverted an edit made to the page Sean Murdoch, recognising that the edit in question was disruptive/vandalism. There is an on-going issue with this page where users are falsifying statistics, and no matter how many times they're undone or the page is given protection, the disruptive edits re-occur. I've attempted to discuss the issue with the most recent user making the edits, however they have not responded and continue to make disruptive edits to the page. This area (after repeated warnings have failed) is not really something I'm familier with, so could I please ask you, what is the best way to proceed with this? Thanks Exxy (talk) 09:54, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Exxy: Each time a wp:rfpp is implemented, the protection period is typically increased. I see the last protection was shorter than the previous. I added a rfpp. One can always request full protection. Then changes would need to be done via an admin. If the stats edited are way off as the latest, I would suggest templating IPs as well. Also, please leave an edit summary so admins understand why you reverted. A "rv values way off from source" would be quite descriptive. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 10:14, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

Social work
Only reverting parts of overly trimmed material. References are given across the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.215.194.94 (talk) 09:13, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
Does it say "A person who practices social work with a Bachelor's, Master's (MSW), and/or a Doctorate degree in Social Work is called a social worker."? Try dictionary.com: Social work: noun 1. organized work directed toward the betterment of social conditions in the community, as by seeking to improve the condition of the poor, to promote the welfare of children, etc. No mention of degree. If you do social work, whether or not you have a degree, you are a social worker. It might be best to have one, but it is not required to be a "social worker". Jim1138 (talk) 09:22, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
- I understand your confusion. This is one of the misguided notion about social work. The content of this articles relies on Professional Social Work, and requirements are mentioned in every countries specific associations. Alms giving was the origin form of Social Work in U.K and India, this can be considered as social work and definition fits, but now it is considered as social service and not social work.
You may be blocked from editing without further notice the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Social work. Jim1138 (talk) 09:30, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
