Name

[edit]

AumSum comes from two Sanskrit words; Om, which means universe, and Sum, which means knowledge. The two form Knowledge of the Universe, or simply stated in English, fact. That is a good name because AumSum posts a lot of good factual videos. Hence, due to his reputation of posting factual videos, the name stuck.

It's AumSum Time

[edit]

Formerly known as Smart Learning for All, It's AumSum time is the main and most popular channel of AumSum. He first was taught, then taught his audience, but then flipped back. The channel used to upload math and science videos, but now uploads what if videos. On 12/27/14, the first video, Digestive System of Humans was uploaded, and the channel was renamed to It's AumSum Time on 5/16/18. In 2017, he changed a lot. His first appearance as a cartoon character who looked like him appeared in 2017, in a video about the Tyndall effect (Proposed by John Tyndall, Irish scientist) which is why the sky appears blue. In the video How does a plastic comb attract paper?, he made his first appearance like him. He gained a voice, then it got cartoony, and his eyes became a bit bigger. Their website was first for viewing the videos, but then became a merch store. Chinmay Shah quit social media in 2023. Then, he used AI voices to teach AumSum. In What if Earth swallowed the sun? new music was used in the video's beginning. His first video with a cartoony voice was about what killed the dinosaurs, and his first what if video was What if we stopped drinking water? The first one with a cartoony voice was about what happens if everyone was vegetarian.

AumSum What-If

[edit]

AumSum - What If is a channel uploading of course, what if videos. It was made in 2021 and What if South Korea disappeared? was the first video. The channel has more than 200 videos, uploading 4 videos every 7 days, and is the next most popular AumSum channel after It's AumSum Time. Sometimes, it uploads videos about planets and their cartoons instead of what if videos. He first did videos with one soundtrack, then he continued the soundtrack in the beginning, but different music was used for the 6 points he made. Then he stopped using the first soundtrack and instead used different soundtracks with laughter – then he made videos with 3 points where either AumSum asks why or the characters. He also made ones where the points are realistic points are used, then the narrator uses them in a cartoon way. Then they made a 10-point video What if we grew roots? For a short time, cartoons were only videos left on the channel. The points were labelled and eventually, the six point system went back after a small cartoon break. For a short time, the videos had 5 points and now they have 6 again with different soundtracks for each point, like before. Then they had 4 points in their videos and now are recreating old videos that got deleted but now they are modified. They first used the full video but now they use their 4 point system. They now use a thumbnail from their videos instead of using a customisable thumbnail. It's AumSum Time followed the same timeline as given above but the earliest what if video used a more educational soundtrack.

Scary videos

[edit]

On the day of 2/15/21, a tweet was made about the video posted by FreeFireNewsWire about the video about Bill Gates disappearing. The video was described as ultra creepy and then more things about this video popped up. Websites posted articles and news agencies across the world made videos about this. RT made a news article later that day showing the AumSum channel will suffer a lot. The video was later deleted.
