Maddux Jeter Madsen is an American college football quarterback for the Boise State Broncos.
Early life
[edit]Madsen was born to Jessica and Eric Madsen on August 1, 2003. He was named for pitcher Greg Maddux and shortstop Derek Jeter. His five siblings are also named after baseball stars.[1] Madsen attended American Fork High School located in American Fork, Utah. Coming out of high school, Madsen was rated as a three-star recruit, where he only held offers from Boise State and New Mexico.[2] Ultimately, Madsen decided to commit to play college football for the Boise State Broncos.[3][4]
College career
[edit]In Madsen's first collegiate season in 2022, he played in just one game completing three of his four pass attempts for 43 yards.[5][6] In week eleven of the 2023 season, Madsen made his first career start where he threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns, in a win over New Mexico.[7] During the 2023 season, Madsen appeared in nine games with one start for the Broncos where he completed 61% of his passes for 1,191 yards and nine touchdowns against two interceptions, while also adding 120 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.[8][9] Heading into the 2024 season, Madsen was named the starting quarterback for the Broncos beating out transfer Malachi Nelson.[10][11]
