Inter corruption allegations
[edit]What about mentioning the strange game when Inter played Liverpool: Inter lost the first leg 1-3 and the won the second leg 3-0. The Spanish ref was investigated for corruption because he allowed two dodgy Inter goals and disallowed a Liverpool one. More here about it. In fact, the game deserves an article of its own. - Thankfully (or tragically, for conspiracy theorists) many matches from the 1960s and 1970s are now available in part or in full on YouTube. This one is available in full, in very good quality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eFNtCN6AqM
- We have a free kick which supposedly was indirect, though there is no evidence of the referee making that call. Free kicks for sliding tackles on the edge of the box are rarely indirect. We have a goalkeeper bouncing the ball up and down and having it stolen while it was on the ground. Liverpool players push and kick the referee back to the centre circle. We have a goal disallowed for handball - you can see the Liverpool forward clearly reach out and punch the ball and hear the commentator repeating "fallo di mano" before the player even gets into the box and kicks it in well after everyone has stopped playing. You also see Inter flicking the ball around for fun while Liverpool struggle to string two passes together - not unlike Italy v. England at Euro 2012, only with goals. If you disagree with my assessment, I would invite you to direct me to evidence in the video supporting your conspiracy theory.
