To have the name of the article tagged as Baltoscandian Confederation and not as Baltoscandia is IMO a mistake. Baltoscandian Confederation is a subset of Baltoscandia as an idea, and should be a subsidiary and ensconced within the item at one level lower or - better yet - disconstrued from Baltoscandia and wholly separate. If together, Baltoscandia should be the title, and the ideas of the good Lithuanian professor should be incorporated into the body of the entry. He who seeks will see that many people have written of Baltoscandia in the sense of a geocultural area sharing common traits, while only a part of them advocated political union. Right now the one idea sort of obstructs the other, the two issues are kind of intermingled and confused.

Baltoscandia is essentially a cultural concept, suggesting that the Scandinavians, the Finnic cultures (Finland, Estonia, others) and the Baltic cultures of Latvia and Lithuania share relatively significant commonalities (starting with the Lutheran religion or past that ties practically all of them, except Lithunia) and that they should be viewed as a European region arrayed in the shape of a horseshoe.

Lithuanians are not the only ones who have written of Baltoscandia, Estonian scholars have espoused the concept too. Therefore it is a Baltic and even to some degree a Scandinavian notion (yes, it has been written about and advocated in the North and Northeast too).

Baltoscandian Confederation is a fairly antiquated political proposal. The one can be said to genuinely exist, while the other (BC) is an idea that some have advocated for in the past.
