[edit]This article is missing Transformers: Robots in Diguise Skyfire, a recolor of Machine Wars Skywarp/Thundercracker, —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.164.72.60 (talk) 01:37, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Cleaning
[edit]This article is badly formatted, horribly written and has far too many sections which only contain one sentence (like RID and IDW). I see the following task as needing doing:
- Gathering all the Jetfire homages together into one section.
- Making the legal issues a separate section.
- Formatting the Armada to include deatils of Jetfire's cartoon and comic appearances. The entries for his combined forms are really shoddy, and feature terrible pictures of the toys.
- IDW haven't published anything about Jetfire yet, and Hasbro haven't released the Titanium toy, why are these sections written in the past tense?
- More details about the Marvel comic appearances. If there aren't any, the a sentence saying "Jetfire did not make any further appearances in the Marvel comics".
- The Dreamwave section looks like it was written by a 6 year-old.
- The grammar's shocking throughout. I feel a complete rewrite is in order.

- I agree with more Marvel comics info; Jetfire actually did a bunch of other stuff in the UK comics IIRC.

- Where the hell does a Robotech/Macross´s VF-1S Super Valkyrie Fighter come out as a Transformer from? When have u ever seen a Transformer in Guardian Mode?
- It came out as a toy in 1985, and he had a "guardian" mode in his instuction booklet. user:mathewignash
"In the animated series, Jetfire was called Skyfire, for reasons discussed below." No reasons are discussed in the section indicated. 192.251.84.3 (talk) 17:18, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
Repaint
[edit]Could someone please find a citation that the Micro Jetfire will be a repaint of Micro Cybertron Thundercracker? This needs to be something in text that says this. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 04:25, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think Hasbro states that are making cheap repaints as part of their press releases, however, you could just LOOK at them. Same mold, different paint application. Such things have never been mentioned by Hasbro on it's web site, however, numerous TF news sites have reported it as such, like this one: http://www.seibertron.com/news/view.php?id=8403 user:mathewignash
- Great, now you finally get it: You can't expect peiople who are not intimately familiar with transformers to look at a picture and know that it's a repaint. I don't know why that is difficult to understand. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 23:49, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sadly you don't seem to get it. The guys on that web site just looked at it and saw it was obviously a repaint. How they are more an authority that any other TF fan writing Wikipedia is beyond me. user:mathewignash
- Not everyone is a Transformers fans, or is even familiar with the concept of repaints or redecos. These things aren't obviosu to the casual reader. WesleyDodds 00:32, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Autobot logo s.jpg
[edit]Image:Autobot logo s.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:58, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
A Nice Addition
[edit]I saw a commercial once depicting Jetfire (not Skyfire) alongside Shockwave. I made note of that.
Alternate Mode
[edit]Jetfire could have not turn into an F-22 Raptor. He looks like a Cybertronian jet based off of the F-22 Raptor. (TougHHead 03:48, 26 September 2007 (UTC))

Knockoff
[edit]"Transformable Robot Armor Battleplane (2007) A chinese-made unofficial toy based on the Legends of Cybertron Jetfire in a larger size and with slightly different colors. Came with an additional rifle accessory. Available at discount stores like Big Lots."
If we were really to include knockoffs, that'd soon end up inclredibly difficult to manage. Plus, they're unofficial (if not to say illegal), so including them in a list of official toys is nonsensical.--87.164.96.130 (talk) 13:26, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
This Wikia page includes all informaiton about a fictional character, including their influence on pop culture and business. Optimus Prime appears on Family guy or Big Lots sells a knockoff Jetfire, it gets mentioned. Mathewignash (talk) 13:28, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Movie I card game Jetfire vs. ROTF Jetfire
[edit]It should be noted that, contrary to a certain editor's belief, the Jetfire in the 2007 Transformers movie card game and the one in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen are not the same character. Jetfire's origin in ROTF contradicts the card game character too much to have them both on the same field. - Areaseven (talk) 09:25, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- Many of the game cards are different from the first movie characters. For instance Cliffjumper's card is a redeco of Jazz, not Bumblebee, Wreckage is a tank, etc. It doesn't mean there are extra characters, just that the card game took a different take on the characters. Mathewignash (talk) 09:42, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- In that case, why do Mudflap and Jolt each have separate sections on both movies? - Areaseven (talk) 01:36, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- There were two characters from the TOY LINE who were different characters, explained in detail. The card game alone doesn't justify a new character, as it has no character, it's just a picture, and a couple weapons. Moreover both Jolt and Mudflap from the 2007 movie line were supposed to be part of the Universe line, but because the stores asked for more movie toys, they reboxed them as movie toys. The creators of the toys stated they were actually designed to be Universe toys of Road Hugger and Erector. Definitely not Jolt and Mudflap from the 2009 movie. Mathewignash (talk) 02:23, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Still, even if characters featured in the card game have no character background, its version of Jetfire has absolutely nothing to do with the ROTF version. - Areaseven (talk) 02:53, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
