Upper Case? / lower case ?
[edit]Since this was not a legally named entity, should it be upper case? It was not the title of a book, movie, etc, only used informally as the "John Ford stock company"??? WikiDon 20:29, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- The term is used so very frequently in works alluding to Ford's career, and with upper case in a large portion of those cases, that I think upper case is justified. I certainly don't think it hurts anything or is wildly improper in this context. Monkeyzpop 22:37, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm 15 years late to this discussion, but I recommend using lowercase. Ford had his regulars, but they were never formally incorporated into a "stock company". Hence, this is not a proper noun and should not be capitalized. --Jeremy Butler (talk) 10:35, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
