[edit]We need some comment here about the spelling variation neonatalogy vs. neonatology. The former should at least find the main article tagged with the latter spelling.
I'm pretty sure it's just neonat-ology, just like ge-ology or bi-ology. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.230.183.165 (talk) 01:16, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Article Evaluation
[edit]I recently completed an evaluation on this article and I think there are some topics that could be added to give the reader a better understanding of the article. I think it would be beneficial to add the skills a neonatologist should posses such as emotional stability and quick thinking. Lastly, I think the data towards the end of the article should be completely taken out because it is irrelevant and out of date. KamGill (talk) 17:09, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
I recently completed an evaluation of this article and think it would be useful to give pounds in addition to grams when talking about weight. Also it would be interesting to add more data on neonatologist specialty worldwide especially in developing countries. Olivialeventhal (talk) 03:03, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
I completed an evaluation of this article and think it could use some edits. The sentence"then completes an additional training called a fellowship (for 3 years in the US) in neonatology" I feel this language is a little clunky.
Can you elaborate on this idea that some neonatologist follow children for years after birth?- in the spectrum of care section
"significantly out-earn-" a bit exaggerated, no?
"The average hospital costs from 2003–2011 for the maternal and neonatal surgical services were the lowest hospital costs in the U.S."- thought you were saying a hospital costs 2003-2011 dollars, maybe reframe this sentence. - in the "treatment" section
Very confused as to why the last section titled “treatment” is all about costs and proportions of hospitalizations, is this a mistake? The last section needs a different title.Stellapom1996 (talk) 02:23, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
I recently evaluated this article and think it could be useful to change the title of the "treatment" section to something else (perhaps, hospital costs), because the article is not about a disease and the section doesn't describe treatments. Also wonder if there are more up to date figures on costs within the healthcare system to use, since the figures cited here are mostly more than 10 years old. I like the intro and academic training sections.

Article Edits
[edit]Hello, I recently made some improvements to the article. I added a "Daily Life" section to highlight what a Neonatologist does on a daily basis. I think this will help a reader that is interested in learning more about the practice of Neonatology, get a better understanding of what their day is actually like. I also added a "Neonatal Intensive Care Unit" section. There are many references to the NICU throughout the article and it could be confusing to a reader if they had no prior knowledge to what a NICU is for. Plus, I added a "Compensation" portion to the article in order to compare the average salary of a Neonatologist to the average salary of a pediatrician. Lastly, I added an "Educational Path" section. I think this will help a reader get a more specific timeline of how long and how much work goes into becoming a Neonatologist. I drafted this originally in my sandbox.
