Proposed move: Article is misnamed

[edit]

In the United States, the term "athletics" is used generically to refer to all sports. "Track and field" is the American term for what British and Commonwealth countries usually refer to as athletics. Moreover, the American governing body for the sport is called -- wait for it -- USA Track & Field. Referring to the "United States national athletics team" is akin to referring to the "English national soccer team"; people may understand what you mean, but it is incorrect.
