Orthochristian

[edit]

Greetings! I see, but all you originally indicated was that orthochristian.com/calendar was the correct url. Anyway, I'll fix what I can. Cheers-- Soupforone (talk) 16:48, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Advice

[edit]

Just a tip. Don't write things like "Your incompetent edits" on other people's talk pages. It goes against our guidelines on civility. Deb (talk) 07:36, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Deb, with all possible respect, I can not admit exclusively professional appraisal like "incompetent" to incivility. Even a political correctness must have some rational limitations. Otherwise we all must simply be corked. When I typed "incompetent edits" I could prove necessity and habitude of BOLD font for some subheadings of ORTHODOX CALENDAR. The Question

Greetings. I have replied to your question on my talk page. ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888 (talk) 12:25, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

St. Ieronymos

[edit]

Greetings Alexander. Today, May 22, for the first time ever, Mount Athos is celebrating the feast of Venerable Elder Ieronymos of Simonopetra (+1957). When they glorified him on Nov. 27, 2019, they did not specify a feast day. Therefore I listed him on Dec. 25 / Jan. 7, the date of his repose. However, please take note that I have corrected this now, and have shown him correctly on May 9 (NS) / May 22 (OS). Also, note that I have started cleaning-up the formatting of all 366 days; I have completed February and March, so far; and now I am starting on April (as time permits). Thank-you always for your support. ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888 (talk) 14:00, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888, would You like to impart me a source of Your new infomation and it;s URL? - Regards, Александр Васильев (talk) 17:15, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. An article in ORTHODOXIA NEWS AGENCY, from November 29, noted that his feast day is on May 9 (NS): "Η ιερά μνήμη του καθιερώθηκε την 9η Μαΐου εκάστου έτους."
Another article from the same source, dated May 22, 2020, noted that Mount Athos was celebrating his Name Day for the first time today (May 22 (OS)):
However, none of the online Synaxaria have included him anywhere - just yet. It would be nice to have another source; but I cannot find one. ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888 (talk) 13:36, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dear ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888, thank You very much! This URL - https://www.orthodoxianewsagency.gr/agioreitika/agios-ieronymos-simonopetritis-i-proti-timi-tou-os-agiou-sti-moni-tou/ - "Τελευταία ενημέρωση: 29/11/2019 - 22:35" is a decisive one/ Let us read: "Η ιερά μνήμη του καθιερώθηκε την 9η Μαΐου εκάστου έτους." May 9, 1965 by NS is a date of finding of his relics (see https://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%8C%CF%83%CE%B9%CE%BF%CF%82_%CE%99%CE%B5%CF%81%CF%8E%CE%BD%CF%85%CE%BC%CE%BF%CF%82_%CE%A3%CE%B9%CE%BC%CF%89%CE%BD%CE%BF%CF%80%CE%B5%CF%84%CF%81%CE%AF%CF%84%CE%B7%CF%82_%CE%BF_%CE%9C%CE%B9%CE%BA%CF%81%CE%B1%CF%83%CE%B9%CE%AC%CF%84%CE%B7%CF%82 ). The Patriarchate of Constantinopleis a NS Church. When it is May 9 in Istanbul, it is April 26 in ALL OS Churches and in Athos too! And now keep attention! Here - https://www.orthodoxianewsagency.gr/agioreitika/to-agion-oros-tima-ti-mnimi-tou-agiou-ieronymou-simonopetritou/ - there is neither about the DATE of first fest in Athos! Consequently, the OS fest of this saint is April 26! || Cordially, Александр Васильев (talk) 14:39, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your point, and I see that you have already edited the calendar for April 26th. However allow me to share my thoughts on this. I am sceptical about April 26, only because Mount Athos was reported to have celebrated the May 9th date yesterday, on May 22, and Mount Athos is OS. And so I will be curious to see how some of the Synaxaria and other Orthodox Calendars list him in the future (i.e. April 26 or May 22). It can be a tricky matter to get right; because historically, before the calendar change in 1924, all the saints for each day would have been listed 13 days BACK (in this case, it would be April 26); however, after 1924, with the modern saints today, they would be listed 13 days AFTER the new calendar date (in this case May 22). And so, both rules apply -- BUT it depends on whether its 13 days earlier (before 1924) or 13 days later (after 1924). The news article yesterday reported that the Mt Athos monasteries (OS) celebrated him on May 22; therefore I am inclined to believe that the feats day is May 22 (OS)... but let us see how he is listed in other sources in the future. Thanks very much. Best. ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888 (talk) 15:25, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dear ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888, it's so difficult to me to writw English. But I really live in the OS Russian Chyrch as a Deacon and ustaver (service regulator) and in the NS State of Ukraine at the same time. I'm know without any additional calculatings that the difference berween OS and NS for 20th and 21th centuries = +13 days. Therefore Start of the Indiction, beginning the Liturgical Year - September 1 (OS) and September 14 (NS). See that PASCHA-2002 - April 19 (NS) = April 6 (OS). See: http://orthochristian.com/calendar/20200406.html
> Here - https://www.orthodoxianewsagency.gr/agioreitika/to-agion-oros-tima-ti-mnimi-tou-agiou-ieronymou-simonopetritou/ - there is neither about the DATE of first fest in Athos!

Pisarz12345 need to be banned?

[edit]

Dear colleague, I already requested and prevented and alerted him, in English and in Russian, but he continues to adding of not-venerated persons. My English is so poor, and I cannot write to Admins intelligible. I hope You can do it! And another point. There is many precedents in "Eastern Orthodox liturgics" when added a not-venerated persons. Often this addings have links to the https://orthochristian.com/calendar/ , specific in "Another commemorations". This ones provokes some users Like Pisarz12345 to going this way. Now I decided to start deleting such points of not-venerated persons if I meet such points during my work in Wiki. Александр Васильев (talk) 11:07, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Александ. Yes I agree that this matter with User:Pisarz12345 needs to be flagged to the Admins now. He has been told both by yourself and by me not to add un-venerated persons to the lists of Eastern Orthodox Saints, yet he blatantly continues to do so. With his edits, he continues to add un-venerated persons to the lists, without producing even one valid reference or footnote to a valid Orthodox Church source (or Synaxarion); and the link that he does provide, to the encyclopedic site "Drevo" do not count as a valid source in this case. Incidentally, I have noticed that User:Pisarz12345 has already been BLOCKED INDEFINITELY on the POLISH WIKIPEDIA (see here), so there is already a pre-existing pattern of disruptive behaviour on his part. If you can please initiate the action here on Wikipedia with the Admins, I will certainly participate and provide my feedback as well. Let me know if you can begin the process with Admin... ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888 (talk) 12:22, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello bro! As I already wrote, my poor English does not allow me to anglicize my thought. That's why I requested You to address to Admins! Maybe there is someone among Admins who can understand Russian? In that case I'll try...
2) About "Drevo". I am one of the voluntary editors of it. This resource looks very much like Wiki but there is one essential moment: "Drevo" is pre-moderated, and any of the information without link to authority source haven't chance to be approved by moderator. That's why "Drevo" can be acceptable source - as based on a true seriously Orthodox data. Александр Васильев (talk) 16:09, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I will look into the process of taking it to the Admins over the next few days (I have to look the process up, because I am not sure about it at the moment). Thanks. ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888 (talk) 02:36, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question for administrator

[edit]

Hello to Admin. Please note that both users User:Александр Васильев and myself, User:ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888, are hereby requesting your assistance or intervention, in regards to a series of apparently bad faith edits by a certain user, User:Pisarz12345, on various articles from the Eastern Orthodox liturgical calendar (= calendar day articles). The edits of a certain user, User:Pisarz12345 are in bad faith, in our view, and are contravening Wikipedia's three-revert rule (edit warring). In summary, user Pisarz12345 is adding persons to the lists of articles of Eastern Orthodox Saints, who are NOT officially venerated by ANY of the Orthodox Churches. An example of this is the article July 3 (Eastern Orthodox liturgics), where Pisarz12345 has blatantly transgressed this three-revert rule; another example like this is article April 19 (Eastern Orthodox liturgics). Both User:Александр Васильев and and myself User:ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888, have repeatedly asked User:Pisarz12345 to not add un-venerated persons to the calendar articles that list venerated Eastern Orthodox Saints. Rather, inclusion of a person on these calendar day articles, means that such a person is VENERATED by one of the Autocephalous Orthodox Churches in the world; and so, in the absence of a valid footnote or reference, from a valid Orthodox Church source, then any person may not be included in these articles; but Pisarz12345 is blatantly doing so, and participating in edit wars on this point.
Now, some of the references/footnotes that User:Pisarz12345 had provided, are from a Russian Orthodox encylopedia, called DREVO, which is indeed an acceptable, and a pre-moderated, good encylopaedic source - BUT only in the instance of venerated (or canonized) Saints or Martyrs; obviously the DREVO encyclopaedic source, as an encylopaedia, will also include several other articles on various historical personages who are NOT officially venerated by any Orthodox Church; and so, such persons, cannot therefore be automatically included in the list of Saints for the Eastern Orthodox liturgical calendar; yet Pisarz12345 is engaging in continuous edit wars and adding such unvenerated persons. The titles of ALL of these 366 Wikipedia calendar-day articles, includes the term "Eastern Orthodox", and so this principle of canonization or official veneration in a valid Eastern Orthodox Church, is paramount here. Please note also, that User:Pisarz12345 has already been BLOCKED INDEFINITELY on the POLISH WIKIPEDIA (see here). Your assistance in this matter would be appreciated. Thanks, ΙΣΧΣΝΙΚΑ-888 (talk) 17:34, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
