The Slim Shady LP

[edit]

There are two different "Just Don't Give a Fuck" singles: one for the Slim Shady EP, and one for The Slim Shady LP.

The first single was released as a 12" by Web on December 10, 1997.[1] This features the original version of "Just Don't Give a Fuck" and includes "Low Down, Dirty" and "Just The Two of Us" as b-sides. This is the only single from the Slim Shady EP.

The second single was released as a cassette, CD maxi, and 12" by Aftermath and Interscope on October 13, 1998.[2] This features an updated version of "Just Don't Give a Fuck" (with a different instrumental and the word "raped" censored) and includes "Brain Damage" as a b-side. This is the first single from The Slim Shady LP.

Jericho735 (talk) 21:54, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's still the same song though, just because there was an update doesn't mean that the overall song changed noteworthily enough to be considered the lead single from the latter release. It's like a remaster of an old song, it's still the same song just with slight differences that aren't noteworthy enough unless specificized otherwise. 4TheLuvOfFax (talk) 22:18, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A single is not the same thing as a song; singles often include multiple tracks, and the 1998 "Just Don't Give a Fuck" single includes two tracks taken from The Slim Shady LP (neither of which appear on the Slim Shady EP). They are different singles even if both include different versions of the same song. Jericho735 (talk) 22:25, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
B-sides don't constitute reason to classify them as different singles in the context of an overall album. 4TheLuvOfFax (talk) 22:28, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reverts

[edit]

Please stop with the dispersive edits and wrongly calling it "clean up". We use the credits to display the songwriters, most rappers don't go by their "rap" name, but by their real name on the credits.

Cheers, MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 16:20, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

every other page is formatted like "written by the artists and the producers" but alright man
4TheLuvOfFax (talk) 16:22, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When they have the same name in the credits. On top of that, that isn't true at all. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 00:42, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
you deleted our convo to cover up your nonsense so i'm not taking anything you say seriously lol 4TheLuvOfFax (talk) 01:31, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You asked me to do so. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 13:47, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
no i didn't, i said i wouldn't be surprised if you did, because you don't want to look wrong in front of a bunch of people, but carry on 4TheLuvOfFax (talk) 13:53, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Again? Stick to credits please, you re-worded an article that just passed as a GA a day ago. Stick to the credits given on the liner notes. They are not credit as a duo on the songwriting, just on the performing and even on the sale they are credit as a duo and individually. Ok? Don't believe look the liner notes on google you will be able to find them on pitchfork.
Regards, MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 10:13, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
why are you picking and choosing with certain songs to address artists as their real names, EVERY OTHER SONG ON THIS SITE has the credits being simplified, by saying "Mars, Brandon Anderson, etc." it's like you're referring to Brandon Anderson and Anderson .Paak as two different people; they don't need their real name AND stage name stated in the summary section of the article
stop being a helicopter editor and be open to simplification for once 4TheLuvOfFax (talk) 16:59, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's called credits. Nothing else MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:23, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My (unintended) vandalism

[edit]

Thanks. I initially thought it was vandalism, but then self-reverted, as I remembered that there are some very strange song names out there. Cheerio and happy editing!

Music of the Spheres credits

[edit]

I just saw the Grammy list and Kang Hyo-Won and Bart Schoudel are missing for the credits. Could you help me find which songs they produced? Thanks. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 01:18, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kang Hyo-Won is credited as Pdogg and was the vocal producer on My Universe
Bart Schoudel was a recording engineer on Let Somebody Go 4TheLuvOfFax (talk) 03:07, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Look at My Dab, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Offset. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Stylizations

[edit]

Don't stylize the artist's names, such as ASAP Rocky and Ty Dolla Sign, the stylized version is only used in their main article and not anywhere else (see MOS:TMSTYLE). TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 15:20, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Rearranging categories

[edit]

Please don't unnecessarily rearrange categories based on what you deem to be more important [3]. Some editors prefer alphabetical order of categories, and that is how I had them. Thank you. Ss112 05:01, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting something over thinking they have more of an occupation than anything.

[edit]

Hi. I appreciate your rewording edits, but if you know that 6lack and Frank Ocean are more singers than rappers, they should say rappers for them, one for Raf and Stay Down. 2601:196:4A01:D770:9508:7C2:73EB:3AA0 (talk) 05:10, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox television date formats

[edit]

Thanks for your efforts in editing. I just wanted to point out that in {{Infobox television}}, per that template's docs, the dates are formatted using {{Start date}} and {{End date}}. Please don't undo that formatting when editing.[4] Otherwise, it ends up in a maintanance category for someone to come fix. Thanks. ButlerBlog (talk) 13:25, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stylizations part 2

[edit]

Hello. Regarding adding parenthesised notes to the leads of articles, e.g. "(stylized in all caps)", opinions have been sought on these at a Manual of Style talk page previously and have been deemed to be trivial and not detrimental to a reader's understanding if it is not present. Please refer to Special:Permalink/1088443179#MOS:TMSTYLE. Thanks. Ss112 05:15, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Singer-songwriters from Rhode Island indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 20:18, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

English varieties

[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Culture of Australia, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Graham87 (talk) 11:02, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Are you kidding me? I literally spelled it the correct Australian way when it was spelled the American way... I literally did the thing you're saying I didn't do... which is respect another form of English. 4TheLuvOfFax (talk) 15:15, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm very sorry, you're right. I didn't check the diff properly. Please disregard this message. Graham87 (talk) 03:53, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And I just assumed, too, to be honest. I thought the change must have been made recently ... but per WikiBlame it was made in 2019 by EyeZackZin, who stopped editing so long ago it's not worth warning them. Graham87 (talk) 04:06, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
