Assessing articles

I've noticed a useful comment from your old bot at Talk:Dana X. Bible#WikiProject class rating. Since your bot is sadly no longer operational, are you aware if this functionality was taken over by anybody else? I assess articles often, and mismatches between projects assessments are common. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 18:28, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

To my knowledge there is no replacement currently operating. However I only have about 70 days left before I can get back to doing that type of work. You can either remind me after that or if your needs are more urgent you can try and find someone to replace it. βcommand 23:04, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Main Page Images

Your recent actions led to File:VolRenderShearWarp.png being on the main page for 30 min unprotected. βcommand 00:34, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

I would respond, but I would hate to sound as curt and accusatory as you did. I'm sure you can imagine what I would say, so I'll leave you with that. -- tariqabjotu 00:41, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Pictures of the day aren't protected when they're put on {{POTD}} (/date)? Odd. -- tariqabjotu 00:50, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
They are and are not protected at the same time. It causes local protection and prevents users from uploading over it on en.wp. But this particular image is from commons and thus is not affected by our cascade protection. In those cases it is required to either have it protected on commons or locally upload it. If thats not done, any autoconfirmed user on commons could upload a goatse image overtop it and have that on the main page. βcommand 00:56, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
No, no, I'm aware of the general point of images on the Main Page and how cascading protection doesn't protect an image if it's on Commons -- I deal with it all the time on ITN. My surprise was that when the image is added to {{POTD/2010-05-02}} (added there on Thursday) that's it's normally not protected at that time (even if the text is to remain unprotected so people can refine it). Creating the protected version of that, as I did here, is just too easy -- simply clicking a link on Wikipedia:Picture of the day/May 2010 and replacing a single line -- that I never thought to ensure that that image was protected beforehand (i.e. when it was selected as the picture for the day). It's a lot more automatic than manually changing the image on one of the other sections. -- tariqabjotu 01:09, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Hitoe Arakaki

Hi, just letting you know that I removed the BLP PROD from Hitoe Arakaki because it was created before March 18, 2010. Feel free to use the other deletion processes for this article if you believe that it warrants deletion. Thanks  --Joshua Scott (LiberalFascist) 13:28, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

My edits are not disruptive. Why do you keep cleaning up the Paul D. Schreiber High School page and removing all its content? Jackcash111 (talk) 04:20, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

If you take a look at the comments I placed when making those edits you will see that the material your adding about your school does not meet the inclusion criteria for Wikipedia. βcommand 04:22, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Bad edit

This was unfortunate. I'm not sure what happened. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 22:45, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

I was looking into a reference issue with a template and happened to use that page as a preview sandbox I did not realize that I ever saved it. thanks for the catch. βcommand 23:09, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Unprotected MP images

If you find one, please do let me know. You can send me an email with the name of the image and just let me know on my talk page that you've sent me an email and if I'm around (I'm almost always on at 00:00 UTC when most images change) I'll be able to deal with it immediately. I hadn't realised this was still an issue with the new bot but you're doing a service to the project by keeping this in peoples' minds (or just annoying the hell out of admins to the extent that someone does something!). Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:37, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

If you have a moment, could you let me in on a few details (by email preferably, so as not to draw attention). I'd like to know where these images were (TFA, ITN, DYK, OTD or TFP) and what time of day if possible so I can follow up and/or make sure I'm around at certain times. Thanks, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:33, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
if you want I run an IRC bot that watches for this, it checks every 5 minutes and you can manually ask for tomorrows images to be checked. βcommand 01:35, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for Adding in the Reflist!

Hey Bettacommand, just wanted to thank you for adding in the reflist to King Fahd Causeway article. The smallest additions can change the whole layout of an article! -Dhulfiqar 14:08, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, and thanks for fixing Amsale Aberra too. *smacks forehead* I can't believe I missed the big honking red warning message! Simon-in-sagamihara (talk) 23:45, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Editing Peter Godwin's Page -- Peter Godwin (Singer)

Hi! Thank you for visiting our wikipedia page. There are only two of us that are allowed to edit that, one would be Peter Godwin himself, who has left a "WITHOUT PREJUDICE" disclaimer and contact. Please understand that over the years, there are certain characters who have been maliciously playing with the page with unfounded and inaccurate information starting with that allmusicguide biography wherein almost all of the information is an absolute falsity from a writer who never did research on Mr. Godwin nor his contributions in music. This would start from his place of origin which is London and not Germany. Betacommand, a while ago tried to edit this information with this particular information for startes and again, this goes back to that particular writer from allmusicguide.com In this light, there are other people to consider in Mr. Godwin's manager and we do not appreciate that this site be a testing ground for someone else's wiki sandbox let alone, spread a very disparaging and derogative remarks/uncorroborated information over Mr. Godwin personally and his contribution to the music scene. Henceforth, that is why we are providing you accurate links which Mr. Godwin himself approved in order to once and for all end any and all speculations. Having said this, all we are asking for are two things: 1. To freely write the factual events and information on his site. 2. How to go about the "Reference List" moving towards the Citations page wherein we would be deleting that allmusicguide biography and adding our own references. That is all that we ask. I do hope you could help us out on this. You could email me as well as my I've set my preferences to go to my private email. Many thanks.

Why did you remove the image from the Angora Love article? -- HarringtonSmith (talk) 04:37, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Simple, it used File:ANGORA LOVE.jpg a file/image that does not exist. βcommand 04:39, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Oh. Pretty damned good reason, I'd say. Thanks! --HarringtonSmith (talk) 04:43, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Re:Mass creation of articles using AWB

Hello, Betacommand. You have new messages at Tinucherian's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

What on earth are you doing? I think you are restoring the wrong versions. Here you restored the the one your edit warring partner prefers. But now you seem to prefer a version that has clear vandalism, in addition to unencyclopedic content and unsourced stuff about BLP. -Andrew c [talk] 14:07, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

OK, that diff isn't going to work because I've deleted the revision... but I hope you can be more careful in the future. That's all. -Andrew c [talk] 14:12, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Sorry about that, I got my revisions mixed up. βcommand 16:52, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

WODRA

Why do you keep deleting the meaning of WODRA which is supported by CRE Finance Council (which oversees the CMBS industry)? Source can be found at:

http://www.crefc.org/assetlibrary/27ee1c6306b746dfb09b9d801acd0679/620db9532f554ed7895e7428dec95db82.pdf

WODRA is not a predatory technique and instead is standard practice in the CMBS Servicing industry in order to protect the senior bond holders of CMBS securities. The current definition that you reverted back to is completely false and is baseless. In fact, if you look at the history of who placed the original definition (without any sources) you will see it was created by an editor by the name of CyrusR. His profile states his name is Cyrus Rafizadeh who operates a website named Predatorix.com. This same Cryus and his website were actually sued for defamation by Orix with favorable judgment and with Orix taking over the website and an apology notice being placed by Cryus stating that all his claims were indeed false. The judgment can be found here: http://www.citmedialaw.org/threats/orix-v-predatorix Why are you reverting to the claims of a known and court judged defamer of the CMBS industry and supporting a definition lacking sources. The current defintion you reverted to is heresy and POV of one person so I changed it back. Granthorton (talk) 18:32, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Upon further investigation I have determined that it should not be part of wikipedia and have requested deletion. βcommand 19:48, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
That's perfectly fine with me. My concern was having a defamatory defintion of WODRA on Wikipedia which you kept reinstating. Granthorton (talk) 19:51, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
I have undone your attempt to do an end run around the proper deletion processes by moving this article into your own space and then blanking it. This is not your article, as I'm sure you know. If you want it deleted so bad, either come up with a WP:CSD that is actually valid, or take it to WP:AFD. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:27, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
