hi

[edit]

Hi. I found you in the category of users who can contribute in English and Portuguese. I myself am a native speaker of English, but I'm well on my way to learning Portuguese. Just check out my user page and talk page, and join in any of the discussions. To keep updated, you can even put a watch on my user page, which will automatically watch my talk page. :-) learnportuguese (talk) 16:15, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Misha Defonseca

[edit]

"Hallo - i have added some biographical informations about Misha Defonseca. I d' ont agree with your idea to merge the bookstory with the person (or to create a redirect). yours Christophe.Neff (talk) 16:38, 1 March 2008 (UTC)"[reply]

Then I think you should give an actual reason why we shouldn't do such a merge on Talk:Misha Defonseca. I've already given a reason why we should: she is not notable for anything else except this book, and the book, though it is not a truthful account of Defonseca's life, is entirely entangled with that life. -- 65.78.13.238 (talk) 16:45, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, feel free to add those points back in (I agree that they're interesting) and I'll clean them up if need be. As for merging, I don't think that's much of a threat now that the article has been polished up some; it does need more biography and less scandal, though, but we can only work with what we have. :) Take care, María (habla conmigo) 17:53, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If the English version is okay, then I see no reason to fix what isn't broken. María (habla conmigo) 13:05, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Éditions Robert Laffont

[edit]

I have nominated Éditions Robert Laffont, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Éditions Robert Laffont. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 21:02, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have withdrawn nomination. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 21:49, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I do not know portugese well, because my mother tongue in English. And yes you are true, I am nocturnal, probably biurnal. Have a look at Napoleon I of France, he had no fixed sleeping time. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 21:59, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Germany Invitation

[edit]

Hello, Christophe Neff! I'd like to call your attention to the WikiProject Germany and the German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board. I hope their links, sub-projects and discussions are interesting and even helpful to you. If not, I hope that new ones will be.

--Zeitgespenst (talk) 15:27, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Christophe, hope you are well. Thanks for the note about the work you plan for your students to undertake. I hope both they and Wikipedia benefit from it! If you are interested, there is some information available about current and past school/university projects at Wikipedia:School and university projects. I've added a couple of sentences about yours to that page (feel free to correct what I wrote!). I'll try to watch Leucate and its talk page in case I see anyone struggling. It will be interesting to see what differences are found between the different language projects. Splash - tk 13:33, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Quesiton about railroad terminology

[edit]

I noticed in the Pfälzische Nordbahn article you used the sentence "The line deserves the cities of Deidesheim, Bad Dürkheim, Freinsheim, and Grünstadt" (emphasis added). I also noticed you used the word "deserves" and "deserved" in a similar context in other railway articles. I don't understand exactly what this means, although I suspect you're using it to mean it serves those stops, or perhaps it stops at those stations on its route. Is this what you mean? I'm not familiar with the use of the word "deserves" in this context. Thanks for helping clear it up, and great work on the rail line articles. Shadowjams (talk) 07:38, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Opération Serval has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable event, WP:NOT#NEWS

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
